When does HIllary bail???
Hillary...
No being alllowed to take a front-seat role in U.S. foreign policy as is customary....overshadowed by THE ONE. Not 100% rid of ambition to be President Still has legions of more centrit Democratic supporters (and some cross-over Republicans) Has an ego the size of a barn. Has a husband with an ego the size of a barn. SO, At what point does she quit her job as Secretary of State??? My guess is after the Midterm electdions.. |
I still cannot fathom why she accepted this appointment from him. She must be...fuming. :D
I'll say the mid-terms as well. |
My personal opinion is that it'll be in the third year of the ones term, that way she's got the experience for her run for the presidency and she can ride the media attention until the election.
Just my .02 |

That had me wondering for a while ... but.... how better to torpedo a rival than to accept a position and then for reasons of ... (principle..moral compas. whatever..) bail once the ship starts sinking. I feel like a dumbass for seeing this this late in the game... it is her BEST chance for the democratic ticket next election.. Help torpedo 'O" and look principled doing it. YMMV. |

I think they BOTH wanted to keep each other as close as possible. I agree with you. 3rd year, AFTER the mid terms and the GOP gains a few more seats. Letting people show that the Dems are NOT working well in the WH and both houses. |
Devil's Advocate?
As slick politicians go I think Hillary is overrated. Bill Clinton was a useless populist, but has this amazing charisma; people know he's a dirtball but forgive him anyway. Hillary in contrast is incredibly abrasive and polarizing, and surprisingly lacking in eloquence, tact, and composure. Despite common perception, she is not an especially experienced or savvy politician, and much of her success seems to come from riding her husband's coat tails. Her outburst in Kenya earlier this year shows sensitivity to this perception. I would worry more about Oba-Mao outmaneuvering her again, he has done it before, and unfortunately is as charming and politically savvy as Bill Clinton. If she is perceived as a threat I wouldn’t be surprised to see her, marginalized, relieved, or forced to leave her post in disgrace or scandal.

It typically takes two years of fund raising to be competitive for an election bid. Thus, I see her "bailing" towards the end of the second year of POTUS' first (and hopefully only) term. It will play out like this:
- There will be a major "crisis" (could be major in reality, or just hyped up) - POTUS will have one stance on it; SECSTATE will remain quite for a bit on it - a source that remains anonymous from within STATE will "leak" a disagreement - SECSTATE will then announce resignation for some lofty reason: Time with family, time to devote to other projects, whatever - 60 days later, she comes out swinging Anyway, that's the rumor I'm promoting so far. |
You're right - she's got huge dreams - and a huge campaign war chest to boot.
I'm guessing she's building it for the "just in case" something happens to BHO. She cited Bobby Kennedy during the primary...and she won't be flat footed to run against Joe Biden be the lead on the ticket in 2012... |
I would substitute blimp hanger instead of barn, but that is just me. She is all good with the "insulation" from the actions of the current administration. With all her negatives, I can't imagine she would have been the non-stop "glory hole" girl for every tin-hat ruler and despotic regime in the world. That shit is getting old, I don't care what your politics are.

I predict we will have an Obama birth certificate, in time for the 2012 elections. Hillary will "stumble" upon it a few weeks before the major primary elections, after she has spent the two years prior to the 2012 election beating him about the head and shoulders with stuff such as Qaddafi saying "my african son" |
Not soon enough.

This scenario or one like it is plausible. I have conflicting notions here. In part I think Obama was a watershed/evolution for the Dems, he is as slick as they get and perhaps Hillary's too old and bitter, but more importantly both she and Oba-Mao are hustlers, and she is an inferior one. I don't think Obama can be out slicked by anyone. The candidate who beats him and I hope it's 2012 will have to be the opposite of slick, someone seen as tough, experienced, smart, and apolitical. ( Bloomberg maybe Gen. Petraeus). Then again someone pointed out to me years ago the Clintons are about the nastiest people around, they have left a wake of scandals, suicides, and carnage behind them, so perhaps I am naive to think her time has passed. |

Now if it said something like his dad wasn't from Kenya but was instead a well known American Communist/Marxist, then I'd be more likely to agree with you as it would just bring the one down for lying about his entire history, the DNC would take a beating but would shrug and say we didn’t know. I guess in the end it depends on what it actually says. |
