I just learned that this batshit crazy sob that was in Afghanistan with us has somehow managed to get awarded the longtab. He did not go to school for it but from what we understand he did a bunch of work in VN way back when. But when I say he is crazy, spending any amount of time with him will detail exactly what I mean. He was relieved of his weapon and duties as section SGT in Afghanistan and sent packing to K2. That was after he threatened the CO and 1st SGT.

Anyway now he is contacting the unit admin trying to get back pay from the deployment and that is how we found out.

Requirements for awarding the SF Tab to people who served in the early years are in the regs.

If he meets the requirements then it could be awarded. Interesting it took him over 20 years to put in for it.

If people don't dispose of the trash properly don't complain if it causes disease somewhere else.

That guy must be at least 57 years old?

(3) From 1954 through 1975. Any company grade officer or enlisted member awarded the CIB or CMB while serving for at least 120 consecutive days in one of the following type organizations:
(a) SF Operational Detachment-A (A–Team).
(b) Mobile Strike Force.
(c) SF Reconnaissance Team.
(d) SF Special Project Unit.
