designed for medical personnel to cut poles for litters and tents and for jungle ops. Thats all I know. |
Let me see...
US Hospital Corps knife, model 1904
Produced as a general utility blade, it was issued in great quantities during the Frist World War. The wood grips are contured for the fingers on one side, and a canvas wrist thong is normally tied through the pommel. The Blade style is quite distinctive in being rounded at the tip, with a continuation of the sharpened edge roundthe tip to the back of the blade. Scabbard patterns are of canvas with a brass throat and a ridged steel belt loo[.. Sound right? |
Pretty good. This particular one has been used to chop kindling wood for a few years.
