How does the knife sheath attach to the drop leg panels on your website? Is it a special sheath?http://www.highspeedgearinc.com/IMAG...egmagazine.jpg

I have one of the HSGI drop leg Panels and it has a space behind the Pals webbing for a knife to go. That being said, I could not figure out how to mount one there, and would like to know also.

Thanks

There are 2 velcro loops that go around the knife sheath. One is on the drop leg strap and goes thru the belt loop of the sheath, the other is down inside the pocket and keeps the sheath from moving. I prefer to also use a zip tie in conjunction with the belt loop strap.

Psywar1-0 pretty much got it, but the sheaths that Gene uses are kydex G-Code sheaths. That's what he sent me for my Kabar when I got one of his PALS leg panels. His leg panels are designed to work with those sheaths.

Hey, Gene:

If we call to order stuff, who should we ask for?

Dam I purchased 2 of the leg pannels and never got a sheath!

I don't supply knife sheaths with the leg panels , as I do not know what knife you may have . However , I can obtain them from G-Code if I knew what knife you have . Most any flat Kydex knife sheath will work . Best is the knife sheaths that have the 2 sets of leg strap slots within them . Using the upper slots , thread the velcroed strap within and secure them . Second strap goes up above to secure the knife sheath's belt hanger to panel hanger . Always dummy loop or secure by other means as a precaution . Bottom of the panels are left open , due to longer knives . There is a D-ring to secure bottom of knife sheath as well if needed .
Now if you do not have leg strap slots on your sheath . Some sheaths have gromment that hold the sheaths parts together . Then you may hand sew or attach by means of cords or ties to the mesh suspension platform . Even a leather knife sheath , you can take a 1/64 drill and make holes to allow thread to pass through to secure to the mesh platform as well .
Keep in mind , the thinner the sheath , the more comfortable you will maintain . My thoughts of allowing the knife sheath behind panels were to allow more space on the belt and removing the need of extra leg straps .

If you call the shop , any of the girls may help you . However , they will assist you in the best way they can . If you need a ear full , then ask for me ! :D

Back to the topic at hand,

I mounted My Blade Tech Ka-Bar sheath to my HSGI panel with a Single small size MALCE clip. Took about 5 minutes this morning. I got to looking through my kit bag and found the panel and the knife and then thought of the MALICE clips. I'll post pics when I get the chance.
