I think it was brilliant! However, in the good ole US of A, all I can see is LEOs being disciplined and fired, lawsuits, and a "poor," injured, "alleged" bank robber/terrorist on various and sundry TV shows - appropriately bruised and bandaged - telling his tale of abuse at the hands of the "out-of-control" police.

As a former teaching colleague used to say about the state of affairs in the good ole US of A (back in the late 70's and early 80's, no less) - "It's a sick society."

I love it. Can see the f*'n law suits already... "excessive use of force."

Yes this is appropriate and lawful use of force. The key is the suspect had engaged in a felony and then was fleeing armed with a hand grenade. At that point he has allowed for the use of deadly force by law enforcement.

Law Enforcement is sued regardless of their actions when force is used. I think most agencies accept that when the life of a dirtbag is taken an "Intent to Sue Notice" is predictably forthcoming.

You get sued only if :

Your unmarked police car (or recently impounded drug dealers car) stops after that tragic auto/ped

AND

The tags on your unmarked or other vehicle are accurate and not replaced off a recovered/stolen vehicle

AND

Someone at the scene recognizes you driving said vehicle despite your fake mustache, beard and oakleys with your hat on sideways

Or so I've heard..........

THP has used this once or twice...

Tennessee Highway Patrol... but thats only a rummer ..
