SF Meeting
USASOC
23 March, 2009 FORT BRAGG, N.C. (USASOC News Service, March 23, 2009) – Green Berets from across the globe will converge on Fort Bragg April 20-22 to discuss the status of the Special Forces regiment; get updates on current training and operations, and honor individuals who have added to the Green Berets’ storied lineage. The U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School will partner with the U.S. Army Special Forces Command, both based at Fort Bragg, to present the 2009 Special Forces Symposium at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville. On tap for this year’s symposium are general information sessions, a golf tournament and a banquet. Assembled members of the Army’s operational Special Forces groups will also participate in a commander’s readiness conference, sponsored by USASFC. During the banquet, April 22, three military units that gave birth to Army Special Forces will be inducted as Distinguished Members of the Regiment: the Alamo Scouts, First Special Service Force and the Office of Strategic Services. Members of the Special Forces Regiment and other interested individuals should visit the symposium website http://www.sfsreg.org/ to register to attend. An exposition of military equipment and technologies will occur simultaneously with the Special Forces Symposium at the Crown Coliseum. The expo will be open to all military identification card holders and members of the civilian law enforcement community. |
That and Friends of SOF is killing our training that entire week.

Seems like duplicity here. You have this symposium at Ft. Bragg the latter part of April, then the SFA Convention at (I believe) Las Vegas the end of June, which will cover basically the same subjects.
It would seem that a little better communication and planning would be in order. But WDIK. |
The Convention is in Las Vegas this year, June 7th-12th...See you there...

The annual SF Symposium celebrates the aniversary of SF becoming a branch, with briefings and meeting groups for current SF issues and is primarily for AD and NG SF. The SFA is a fraternal organization and the annual SFA Convention is a social gathering oriented primarily toward retired SF. TR |
SF Symposium & SFA Convention!
What TR said is true , However, it never hurts to be around "Quiet Professionals" anytime the opportunity comes up! They tend to be a lot better quality people at these gatherings than you will find at other events. Just my .02. FWIW. Regard's, tom kelly

Little Dude rolls my way and sez: "Did you know there are pills that make your "privacy" * stand up? Mine does that by it'self, I have no idea why." *That's what we call it formally, in a gender in-specific way at my house. Except when he refers to "draining the lizard" Ya gotta be SO careful what you say around kids! They're triangular? REALLY? As if I'd know. . . |

My older daughter once referred to how she handled a young man who was pestering her while they were both in grade 3. When I asked her what she did, she said she "... kicked him in 'the pain.'" |
