The pirates deserve the traditional fate of pirates...but I hope the crew of the Faina comes through this alive and well.

That one is nothing, check out this one, quote and link follow:

"Within days, pirates who had boarded the ship developed strange health complications, skin burns and loss of hair. Independent sources tell The Long War Journal that a number of pirates have also died. "Yes, some of them have died. I do not know exactly how many but the information that I am getting is that some of them have died," Andrew Mwangura, Director of the East African Seafarers' Assistance Program, said Friday when reached by phone in Mombasa."

"...skin burns and loss of hair." Wouldn't that be a sign of radiation poisoning?

Two ships

Two different ships.

The Ship from Iran is the one that has the people getting sick.

Correct, I was just bringing to light other, even more serious issues abound in that region!!

Another update. I find this story's development interesting, as I think the ship will be boarded.

Interesting indeed! It could be radiation; but I wonder if some of the chemicals used in uranium enrichment and refinement might produce similar symptoms? (That's a rhetorical question - I suspect it's best not to post the answer. :) )

Thank you, Chef Penn, for the updates.

Penn,

I can't understand how these Somalian pirates can constantly keep getting away with this.....In this day and age you would think there has to be someway to stop them.

GB TFS :(

Last I knew, there were definitely efforts other than the presence of armed warships to stop them, but we were never really given much of a free hand in HOA. That said, I came home a year and a half ago, and haven't kept up with the situation as well as I wanted to.

Yeah not the Russians are sending a ship to the location. Can not wait to see how that works. The dropped their demands down to 5 million so they may be wanting to get off the ship as quick as they can......... Need to get the SEALS out of the towns and mountains and back to Sea duty.....:lifter

Ambush Master,
Wouldn’t it be interesting if someone sent in some “rat poison” to thin out the brood.

I've heard it said that the only thing worse than getting hijacked by Somali pirates is being rescued by the Russians...:D
