Biden garbles Depression history
|
"When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed," Biden told Couric.
Yep. I was watching that when it happened. I yelled at the TV set and my wife came into the family room and wanted to know what the matter was. I told her what JB had said and why it was hooey, that FDR wasn't president until nearly 3 years after the Crash of '29 and gave his "fireside chats" over the radio because nobody had TVs, and that nobody would probably pay any attention to it because JB is neither black nor female, because Katie Couric (or any of the network talking heads) is too dumb to call him on it, and because most Americans probably have no idea what happened circa the Crash of '29. She said that I should watch another station--she likes Charles Gibson but I can't take him so I watch CBS to hear Bob Schieffer. Richard :munchin |
"When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed," Biden told Couric. "He said, 'Look, here's what happened.'"
...the news cast was carried in all 57 states and the bloggers heaped praise upon the presidents bold words. The truth is... in a few months the Large Hadron Collider" will produce technology that is going to be used to send a few of Obamas commando-crats back into history. They will deliver television to the depression, they will help Al Gore invent the internet and they will keep the Bosnian sniper from getting Hilary. Unfortunately they inadvertently garbled part of Kennedy's famous speech... "ask not what your country can do for you, but how you can show your patriotism by paying taxes" This election is more fun than a barrel of monkeys! |

I often wonder if Joe Biden can cook eggs that are not scrambled?
As a public orator, he does scramble things up " a bit ". Like Al Gore, Biden reconstructs events to fit his topic, and make him look smart . See Reagan quote below. RF 1 |
The Emperors New Clothes
Its just so damn annoying when the cycle flows like this... Hillary talks about snipers, Gore invents the internet, Obama visits 57 states and Biden talks about TV newscasts during the depression; Its presented by the apostles in the news media as a simple gaffe, lighten up republicans they mis-spoke. Is it really that hard for normal people to see through the curtain? Are there any normal people left?
John Kerry is a gazillionaire because of hard work and the fact that his wife sells ketchup. McCain on the other hand steals food from the mouths of babies and pushes old ladies down stairs to get his wealth. George Bush says "nucular" instead of "nuclear" and he's instantly transformed into an idiot thats to dangerous to man the oval office. Palin openly states how she stands on an issue and shes portrayed as a bible thumping wacko. Yet Obama can say his views on abortion are above his pay grade. What gives? This idiot votes "present" more often than not and yet he is the agent of change? Is the population of this fine country really that gullible? God save us all. |

gaffe also gaff (gf) n. 1. A clumsy social error; a faux pas: "The excursion had in his eyes been a monstrous gaffe, a breach of sensibility and good taste" Mary McCarthy. 2. A blatant mistake or misjudgment. Biden is a artful master of the gaffe. A gaffe machine I might say. He knows this and still speaks with out thinking it thru. I'm starting to think he knows something that we don't. That its all some kind of mind game he's playing. He can't possibly be as goofy as he's coming across, he has to know that everything coming out of their mouths is being fact checked. |
Do we give him the benefit of the doubt?

I don't know if such will prove the case with Senator Biden. I've been watching Senator Biden off and on since the Iran-contra hearings. My two cents are that he knows he's a fairly intelligent guy but he's not as smart as he thinks and he doesn't quite realize that not everyone enjoys the sound of his voice as much as he does. I also think he's a hold-over from a time when political discourse wasn't the "gotcha" game that it would become during the presidency of Bush the Elder and the confirmation hearings for Robert Bork, John Tower, and Clarence Thomas. In the good old days, a member of the legislative branch could be more comfortable with rules allowing for one to correct one's statements for the record after the fact and to submit into record written statements as if they were read aloud before a committee. Also, members of Congress would lambaste each other during the day but leave the theatrics at the door during the evening when they'd treat each other as the respected friends they were. (This insight is from Tip O'Neal's memoirs.) Some may remember the briefings President Bush gave during DESERT STORM. He would riff, ruminate, think aloud, and then just catch himself before divulging what Prime Minister Thatcher had told him moments ago on the phone. In today's environment, such candor would have the chattering classes talking about everything but what the president had actually said. Now, thanks to the wizards at CNN, the continuous news cycle, and the super-charged ideological rhetoric of today, any verbal mis-step becomes the story. Quote:

The Joe Biden experience
His oddball oratory skills are not new either... Joe doesn't just garble history, he makes a chicken noodle sandwich every time he speaks:
Quote:
It's confusing how people of Bidens ilk can be so willing to fabricate and spread outright lies (or as they would prefer "mis-spoken war accounts") about the big gunfights they have been through. (The words poser and liar come to mind) Then of course there is the ole "rifleman joe" comment a few days ago that actually threatens violence on B. Hussien Obama should BHO attempt to take Bidens guns away: Quote:
The truth is, ole' Joe is part right... Obama would never disarm a fellow hypocrite. Him and his ilk are only after guns belonging to citizens. Can you imagine the media cyclone if Sarah Palin made such a statement? The emperor is not wearing any clothes folks and B. Hussien Obama is not the messiah he is being portrayed as. ...just my two cents |

The fact check on that one didn't take long. But I'm sure he got away with it concerning most of his supporters. |
