Web based photo sharing
I don't know the technical phrase to use, but I'd welcome any recommendations on which service to use for downloading and sharing photos online. I've signed up for Flickr, but it looks like you have to watch them like a hawk to make sure your photos don't get spread around. I've set and reset every preference pane I can find.
My dad is on his way to a Kagnew Station (Asmara) reunion today and I'm uploading dozens of old slides so he'll be able to share them. (I'm also FedExing him a flash drive. Somehow I think the online thing won't do as well for his use as it might for me.) I haven't paid for more MBs yet, so it isn't too late to change services if anyone has a better idea. Thanks |
Something to keep in mind when choosing an online file shareing site . . .
Read the Terms of Use. They are under no obligation to backup your files and some have been known to arbitrarily delete files and folders to clear up space. Fore warned is fore armed. |
Oh, big 10-4!

This site is "closed" down, "I can stalk you." But this article brings up what Kyobanim was hinting to.

Shutterfly will take unlimited number of photos, and the photos are kept in private accounts. You can "invite" others to view your albums, though. Susan |
LOL BKKMAN.. Yeah I knew about them and Tom Smith Evil and other sites edumacating us dummies on the great WWW and Cyber securities. I just added it because the article brings to light a lot of what many parents don't know, let alone what they and their kids are posting. My kids, daughter thought I was over protective Dad. I may have pulled a garage down down a boyfriend or two. LoL. But many don't really know how the internet works "together."

TS got it and add some more initials and many other organizations.
Recently been testing a log analyzer based on probabilities that indicates many are fixated on grabbing stuff with very subtle footprints. I was so pissed at the results I planned on making it Open Source...though suspect an attorney pool would be a requirement again. May talk to Google about that part. In any event, if it's private don't put it on the wire... |
