3400 Bryant Irvin Rd.
Fort Worth, TX
Just off I-20
8:00 am – 3:00 pm


To get to the Lockheed Martin Center take I-35W to I-20 which crosses I-35W in southern Fort Worth. Turn west on I-20 to Bryant Irvin Rd. and exit north. The Center’s grounds are within a large fenced area and there is a guard house. Tell the guard that you are with the insignia show. There is no charge to enter the grounds :D

Good Show
 

Arrived late to Ft Worth show...most of the vendors had blown the place..but 2 really good vendors/collectors were left. Had long conversation with one from Ft. Hood area...long discussion of QM Corps unit DIs and his collecting interests and current missing pieces. My own interest is in collecting the DIs from the 8ID supporting and tenant units including the 504th, 505th, and 509th Abn Inf Regiments , and the Abn School at Weisbaden AB. The first 2 were moved to the 82nd Abn and the 509th to SETAF in '73...so I will have fun looking for these and some other rarities at the upcoming shows listed below. Had a good time...old soldiers never die....:D



May 24, 2008, San Antonio Militaria Collectors Show, VFW Lodge, 222 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas; 9 am to 4 pm.



May 30 - June 1, 2008, Ft. Worth Militaria Show – Amon Carter Exhibit Hall, Ft. Worth, Texas....Big Show with at least 300 tables...gun show next door!



August 29-31, 2008 ASMIC (American Society of Military Collectors) National Convention, (Non members welcome) Ft. Mitchell, KY - across from Cincinnati, OH

Ill keep an eye out for any of those DIs, Ill let you know via PM if I locate any along with vendors contact info. (always willing to help out a fellow collector and board member).
Im currently hunting down ODA patches from the 20th Grp, sandbox made of course. Im also looking for ROK SF Brigade pocket patches.
Funny thing about those ASMIC shows, you have to be the early bird, the one here at Ft Belvoir is done before noon. On the bright side it will allow for a trip to G Petersons "mecca" like establishment at National Capitol Historical Sales or perhaps a trip to the Corps new Museum at Quantico.
Im considering making the trip out to the ASMIC convention but its still up in the air.
