18D Pre-qualifications

After reading through all the 18D Posts I have a question that I can not seem to answer.

I am an 18XDEP. My recruiter said that I would be able to become an 18D with no problem. After reading many posts on this website I have come to the conclusion that no matter what he said, the USArmy will decide what I am to become based off of its needs.

My question is what can I do to make sure that I can become an 18D through pre-certs or training. Is there anything else I can do to increase my chances of becoming an 18D.
I have a BS Biology, NREMT-Paramedic, and Biomedical Certs from Grad School, GT 135/98.

One more question I just thought of:
I would also like to know, when is the MOS chosen for the 18X's.

Thanks for any reply's.

Your recruiter does not assign your 18 series MOS, SWCS does.

You appear to have adequately prepared yourself academically.

The question above has been flogged to death here and is easily available by reading.

First search, then post.
