Nothing against LEOs in general, just this particular one.

It’s real simple Warriors fight rogue countries & wars, LEO’s fight criminals and crime, two different fights, different rules, different combatants.
LEO’s are trained to be defensive and learn defensive tactics, techniques and procedures (TTP’s). Warriors are trained to be offensive and learn offensive TTP’s. LEO’s are trained to arrest individuals employing a “force continuum”. Warriors are trained to kill individuals, destroy structures, infrastructures, industrial complexes, military bases, seize airports & cities and bring nations or dictators to their knees. At the end of a day LEO’s get to take off their body armor and go home. Warriors are deployed for years at a time in semi or non-permissive areas sleeping in their armor 24 hours a day. LEO’s are trained to engage threats from about 21 feet. Warriors are trained engage threats from over the horizon, from underground, from above, from the sea, and soon I’m sure, from space. There is not one federal, state or local law enforcement agency that would last 30 seconds against a trained platoon of Marine Infantry. It’s not the big difference in men but their training and mindset. Some of my best friends are LEO’s and they are just that, officers of the law, not warriors. Team Sergeant |

The "break shit and kill people" mentality is a poor fit for a law enforcement job. |

I try to read and learn most of the time. I pray to God that we have law enforcement officers that can "break shit and kill people." I don't mean a rogue cop running around violating people's rights. We need officers who are able to step forward and stomp the guts out of the felon trying to break into a house in the middle of the night. |

I disagree. Unless you're talking about LEO's that have in the past been in the US military, then yes, I would agree somewhat with your blanket statement. To say some Marines and Army soldiers are not warriors, I'd have to see to whom you're pointing the finger at..... In order to have the warrior mindset one requires warrior training. Men are not born warriors; they are trained to become warriors. Individuals that train warriors are themselves warriors. LEO’s do not possess the requisite training unless they have in the past received training from a true warrior, or, have been a soldier or Marine before becoming an LEO. To say some have the warrior “mindset” would be to instill a false sense of confidence/security. (Sometimes I’d like to think I have a physicist mindset, then again I don’t pretend to actually have one as I've not had their years of training.) War is unlike any experience civilians would ever encounter except on a battlefield. I don’t think any LEO has ever faced one million plus enemy warriors, all at the same time and all with one thought, to destroy you by any means. When warriors fight “wars” they take property and destroy the enemy, by the thousands. Killing one cracked up armed robber does not make one a warrior nor does it mean they possess the warrior mindset. When someone mentions the warrior mindset and LEO training I always think of the North Hollywood shootout, two armed bad guys, in the open hold 100 LA cops at bay for 45 minutes….I make a point of this incident because it was not some small town police force that was held at bay but the well trained LA police officers. Again I make this point, given the same weapons and same bad guys but change the LA officers out for the same number of Army or Marine infantry, with the police weapons, those two morons would not have lasted 45 seconds. LEO’s are not warriors, warriors are not LEO’s, different jobs, different training. Warriors defend nations; LEO’s enforce the laws of those nations. Mr. Suarez should rename his warriortalk fourms to pregnanttalk forums as his experience in both would be about equal. Please spare me the civilian “warrior” mindset. Team Sergeant |
