Hard Drive Question
I have a 2nd hard drive in my Dell desktop (thanks Kyo). Can I store all my information on that hard drive, pull it, and put it in another computer later on and still have the information?
|
Yes.
It is easier if you use removable hard drive bays. TR |
Roger and many thanks.
|
By "store all your information" do you mean data files? If so yes.
If you're talking about installed applications, then no. Unless, that is, it is the same hardware configuration. |

Help as in?!?!?
Also, what Operating System are you running?? You most likely will have to resurrect this drive using the same or close OS!! Later Martin |
XP. I really need Kyo. I can't remember which one is which. If I pull one of them, do I have to be worried about the loose cables and what not?
|
You are good to go with the operating system. Once you pull the drive the power and ribbon cable can just be loose in the cabinet...they won't short anything out.
|
Well, I pulled the one and started it back up - it's booting up.
|
Worked like a champ. Many thanks for the help.
