Armed Miss America 1944 Stops Intruder

Send that one to the Brady Bunch!

If she shoots that well at 82, what was she like in her prime?
You go, Mrs. Ramey (ma'am...hey, I don't want to mess with her). In fairness, she told 'em it was coming. My favorite part is that she had to balance on her walker to take out her gun. The idiot thief shouldn't have stuck around. You just don't see that kind of gumshen in people anymore. People like Mrs. Ramey and Prof Librescu should be the type of role models we look up to and try to emulate. After that story made the press, guess whose house and farm equipment is now probably safe from here on out? Bandy |

I have to wonder what her talent was?:D
Uh oh, this explains it:munchin 1944 - Kentucky born Venus Ramey entered the pageant representing the District of Columbia, and was the first red head to win the title. She entertained in service camps, sold war bonds and toured in vaudeville. In addition to a citation from the United States Treasury Department for her work in the War Bond effort, Venus Ramsey's picture was painted on the side of fighter planes. These plans made sixty-eight raids over war torn Germany, and never lost a man. At a time when it seemed the country was losing the war, this story made the Associated Press and built a nation's morale. Don't mess with the redheads! TR |
