Take's alot to heat and cool his lard ass. BMT POWER: GORE MANSION USES 20X AVERAGE HOUSEHOLD; CONSUMPTION INCREASE AFTER 'TRUTH' Mon Feb 26 2007 17:16:14 ET The Tennessee Center for Policy Research, an independent, nonprofit and nonpartisan research organization committed to achieving a freer, more prosperous Tennessee through free market policy solutions, issued a press release late Monday: Last night, Al Gore’s global-warming documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, collected an Oscar for best documentary feature, but the Tennessee Center for Policy Research has found that Gore deserves a gold statue for hypocrisy. Gore’s mansion, [20-room, eight-bathroom] located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES). In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home. The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh—more than 20 times the national average. Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh—guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore’s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359. Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore’s energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006. Gore’s extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore’s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year. “As the spokesman of choice for the global warming movement, Al Gore has to be willing to walk to walk, not just talk the talk, when it comes to home energy use,” said Tennessee Center for Policy Research President Drew Johnson. In total, Gore paid nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for his Nashville estate in 2006. Who says FOGs are slow? Beat me to it, BMT. I added the text.

Only YOU can prevent global warming....apparently AL is immune to having to pitch in.

Wow, and to think I was feelin' bad about my gas-guzzlin' SUV.

He's part of the "do as I say, not as I do" crowd.

Liberal Democrats
Hypocrisy is not a new charachter flaw for liberal democrats.

I didn't watch the oscar's (I think they suck), but I'd speculate that NOT ONE of al's supporters walked to the event, but instead rode in bigass gas guzzlin', pollutin' limousines. As for the statues themselves? They were flown in from Chicago. I wonder what THEIR global warming signature is?

I read this last year and it dovetails nicely with this AlGore story. Obviously the global warming giltterati don't put their money where their mouth is.

HHHmmmm???? 20 Rooms, 8 bathrooms.....I betcha one gallon of gasoline (93 octane, to help the environment) and a match could generate substantial amounts of BTU's. Now we just need to figure out how to harness the energy.....or not. ;) |
Really doesn't come as a shock to me, remember he needs all that room for ol' Tipper and her lard ass too.

The inconvenience that he might face should he try to conserve might somehow thwart or stifle his creative genius in designing bold new societies for the lumpenproletariat. We could experience a version of the "Butterfly Effect" in which the world would be robbed of the great vision of AlGore just because we expected him to live up to his espoused convictions. The Horror! Face it. The gifted deserve the bread so that they can more energetically determine how the masses best divide the crumbs. |
WTF is it with this Prius crap - they may cut air pollution for the short term, but where do the 9 friggin batteries go (one dies the whole string has to be replaced) - and they only have a 4-5 year life.... anybody want to answer me that one? I only get 47 mpg in my diesel, and it wands just like a LEV, it'll go 500k easily and requires less maintenance than a Prius.

He needs all of that energy to run the equiptment he invented to protect us from Manbearpig.
Manbearpig, discovered by Gore shortly after he invented the internet, is the second greatest threat to mankind after global warming. It is half man, half bear and half pig. |
