Colombia - Carlos Castaño's Body may have been found

We won't know for sure until all the forensics are done - about 3 months - but looks like they may have found Carlos Castaño's body. It would appear that one of his Brother Vicente's henchmen did him with a head shot on the brother's orders. Motive aappears to be that Carlos was going to turn himself into the US on the drug trafficking deal and Vicente couldn't have that.

For those that read Spanish:

Castaño was, IMO, the most dangerous man in Latin America before he was KIAd. He had intel on EVERYBODY. He was a pretty amazing man and his story is well worth the time to research.

Roger. But that isn't a very good article. All of the good stuff is in Spanish.

i struggled through the article, with help from a dictionary and a tangential knowledge of a couple of latin-based language (Phrench and Eyetalian)...the Wikipedia version is basically a Reader's Digest transliteration...

NDD, i firmly believe you are trying to get me killed with that stuff...:D

There is a really good book written with his cooperation - Mi Confession - if you read Spanish...

Roger, although I don't know how we went from "3 months" to "confirmed" in one day - they are reporting a DNA match on local news.

If you recall when he first disappeared, I said I wouldn't believe anything in regards to his whereabouts or disposition. In fact, I said I wouldn't even believe a DNA test unless I secured the sample myself and had chain of custody throughout testing. I'm generally not a conspiracy theorist and I'm not a betting man, but, in regards to this guy, I believe he is still breathing H2O.

Not a doc, but if he is, I suspect that he is dead.

breathing H2O for a prolonged period results in a condition known as "drowning"...

LOL

FILO - I believe he is dead. Not drowned, but rather a victim of what Ambush Master calls a "warning shot to the temple."

FILO 09-07-2006 04:11

Thanks guys! :o No excuse, I should have proof read, attention to detail. I was tired last night after driving from CT to Fayetteville. This morning I have to start my drive to Tampa. I’ll refrain from posting tonight! LOL

im attempting to read the spanish version...:lifter good mental workout

"monoleche" the brother of the suspected Carlos Castano (tilde over n)

are those who are latinly inclined know what this means?

I shall take a stab...

mono literally means monkey, but some of my hispanic friends also say this word means a foul mouth person?

I have seen alot of colloquial expressions using leche (milk) as a form of luck...

por ejemplo:
yo tengo leche

maybe lucky b*****d?

thanks,

Oj

NousDefionsDoc 09-18-2006 14:38

In Colombia, "mono" is used to denote fair-skinned, blonde people. Monoleche means "blonde (fair) like milk or as milk"
