Um, I'm a non-Q who hasn't even hit OSUT yet, but isn't that a big part of what makes SF different from Rangers / 82nd / 101st / etc? The translation I always heard for "De Oppresso Liber" wasn't just killing oppressors. I mean, sure, some missions require / allow that, but training Gs and winning hearts and minds is what separates QPs from door-kickers, right?

FID, UW and working with the locals is hard dirty work but it is where SF pays off the most.

A good part of SF has been doing the DA bit for a number of years now. It will be all that some of the younger lads know. His Team Sergeant will introduce him to the joys of FID.
