Interesting. BMT did you know any of the guys on the Mission? Before we get into this discussion, if we do, Team Sergeant.... should we move this to the Team House or save it for another time? Don't want to piss anyone off. "Q".

Every SF guy on that mission (that I know of) is listed in public books on the subject. Two of them were my first two Team Sergeants.

We can discuss the mission, just leave out the tactics, techniques, procedures and anything regarding the classified units involved. Damn, this thread is done...... :D

In 67 during the Israel v Egypt war we were slated for an operation which could have been Dessert One but turned out to be TF-1. (Turkey F**k I)

If anyone is interested tell me where to post it. I wouldn't consider it classified but could be an embarrassing story - vivid enough to remember after 40 years.

:

You weren't alone. We were directed to move to a railhead in Hohenfells, FRG, and start outloading our mech unit for an all fun filled paid trip. It was all over before we loaded the first track.

Got to do it all over again in 73, but this time I was in the 101st and we were moving down to the marshalling area at CAAF. That too ended before we drew our chutes.
