Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone here. I hope each of you have time to gather with friends and family to celebrate the things you give thanks for!

Also to you and all the members here. We're doing a very small affair, and then a big one on Sunday because that's when grand-daughters can be present. They have learned that they have to work holidays sometimes because 'life' doesn't start them off as Exec VP of anything. The full & chatty table will be great, as well as #1 daughter-in-law's sweet potatoes.

My first Army Thanksgiving

1982 Phase I mid-point at Camp MacCall. The cadre was given the order that we had to all go to the Mess Hall at Ft Bragg, and they were pissed. They did it, but were pissed.

So we loaded up the cattle-cars and away we go. We arrived and ate at the best Mess Hall that I ate in through out my Army career. Everything you could desire food-wise for Thanksgiving was there. We ate in a very relaxed atmosphere with no stress. When we finished, we loaded up on the same cattle-cars and back to Camp MacCall we go.

As soon as the last wheel of the last cattle-car crossed the boundery we stopped. We got smoked all the way back to the compound by the pissed off cadre, then in one gate and out the other...

Good times. I would not trade them for anything.

Happy Thanksgiving wherever you may be.
