SOF and CIA

I used to read, mainly around the Vietnam era in memoirs, that SOF was always very leery of CIA and the case officers due to shoddy or untimely intelligence, compartmentalization, etc. I've also read several books by former DO officers who talk about even inside CIA how, the right hand never knew what the left hand was doing.

I wonder, was this really the case then and if so, how is the interaction now with CIA, NSA, FBI, etc, especially since September 11th? Do you guys feel you're getting proper and timely intelligence in Iraq and Afghanistan to be able to act on it?

Our relationship with the CIA, NSA will not be discussed by us and definitely not on a public bulletin board.

Also, like the Army Special Forces the CIA and NSA does all their work "overseas", the FBI does 99,999% of their work in the United States.

As far as I know the Army Special Forces has never had a working realtionship with the FBI.

In Masters of Chaos by Linda Robinson there are two examples of SF participating with law enforcement in operations CONUS. One has to do with cross MEX-US border drug running and the other with 6 members of 5th SFG helping the FBI with an indictment of Ahmed Ressam. I would assume that these are very isolated examples but interesting bits of history.
