Becoming an 18D
I have always been curious about how an 18D gets selected. In other words, does one who is applying for 18D from a conventional unit need to have experience in the medical field? For example could an Infantryman choose 18D as his first choice when applying for SFAS and have a shot at getting it as his MOS in his Special Forces Career? Thank You.

Well, this board has only been active for almost five years, who knew there would be answers posted here for those who searched?
I never cease to be amazed at the lack of motivation of our prospective members. TR |
Hmmm...a NO-GO at this station without a re-test - not a good start for someone claiming to want to join the exalted ranks of the 91B4S/18D. ;)
