Arabs Gone Wild in Israel
Multiple attacks since Monday, including outside of the Yehuda/Shomron region, put this week's shenanigans at a higher tempo than.... well, whatever passed for "normal" since the end of the Second Intifada in 2005.
Anyone who's been paying attention would say that terrorism has been on the rise since Baruch Mizrachi and Shelly Dadon were murdered in separate incidents 18 months ago. The kidnapping/murder of American citizen Naftali Frenkel and two of his friends led to last year's "Operation Protective Edge" in Gaza, which did almost nothing against the PLO or Hamas in Yehuda/Shomron or among the Arab communities throughout the rest of the country. I suspect it will only get worse until real leaders who are not afraid of the State Department, the EU or the UN dominate the Knesset. |
The mayor of Jerusalem knows how to stop a bad guy with a gun.

Reading the comments in some of your links is very refreshing.
There actually are some very pro-gun, pro 'defend your own self' bastions of society left out there. (Besides those here, of course) Thank you for your updates and stay safe. |
This is A7's list of attacks so far, starting last week. The list is not comprehensive, as it does not include rioting, or rock attacks along Highway 6 near Qalqilya. I'm not going to post a link for every single attack as it happens, but I will post links like this that cover multiple incidents, for big-picture purposes. Thus far, all attacks have occurred in/near Arab neighborhoods (especially within Jerusalem) and cities (e.g. Qalqilya), and in places where Jews and Arabs mix freely (cities in the coastal plain, and in some northern places, like Afula). Note that in most of these attacks outside of the 1949 armistice line, the perpetrators carry Israeli citizenship. We are dealing with a population who want all of the privileges of citizenship, and don't give the smallest hoot about their responsibilities as citizens.

This is particularly educational, demonstrating what IDF soldiers have to deal with on a daily basis (not just in this week's violence):
http://www.jpost.com/Arab-Israeli-Co...Beit-El-421179 http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Ne...6#.VhbAJisl9n4 Notice the people wearing blue body armor? That's the international press, always embedded among the Arabs, and making it a royal pain for the IDF to accomplish anything. They are always given advance notice when a riot or other provocation will occur, and are highly encouraged to position themselves to make the IDF's job as difficult as possible. Last week, there was an incident where two media personnel (in their distinctive blue body armor) tried to collect footage of the equipment inside of an IDF vehicle. The officer who destroyed their equipment to prevent them from collecting information on classified systems has since been punished; his battalion is pissed. These links are from that incident: http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7...706173,00.html http://www.jerusalemonline.com/news/...incident-16180 So, when you see footage from Israel involving Arabs provoking our soldiers, especially when it's spun the other way, and originates in the "West Bank", it's probably from one of these fools. Crazy weekend
Apparently there's a new entry for my scorecard-- the "Islamic Movement". I don't remember hearing about these guys previously, but apparently they've been around since the `70s.
http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Ne...5#.Vhl2yCsl9n4 The article also says the Muslim Brotherhood, not just its Hamas branch, may be involved in all the shenanigans. More links: Al-Jazeera Profile on the Islamic Movement group Wikipedia article for "Islamic Movement in Israel" http://www.jcpa.org/jl/jl416.htm MK Bennett removes Islamic Movement flags displayed on a tree ----------- The author of this blog lives in Shiloh, north of Jerusalem. First suicide bomber of the season.
http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Ne...0#.Vhn06fmqpBc To everyone who has advocated doing this, or some variant thereof: John J. "Blackjack" Pershing lives! :D http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Ne...2#.VhoDE_mqpBc On a related note: There have only been two bombing attempts so far, the first being a suspicious object planted alongside a highway in the Shomron. Both attempts were defeated by security forces, so it's clear that (A) people are much more vigilant than they were in 2000, and (B) the security forces have learned and retained lessons from 2000. |
OPSEC lesson, or: Shoot the media
This is connected to my earlier post about foreign media interfering with IDF operations. In the video from my earlier post, you can see the media recording uncomfortably close to the IDF as it disrupted a riot somewhere in the Shomron region (exact location was mentioned in that link).
This is what happens when you tolerate/ignore the presence of hostile people with cameras in the vicinity of combat operations. (Did anyone really think the media were "innocent bystanders"?) http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Ne...7#.Vhth1_mqpBc Stay safe. |

Another attack near police HQ: http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Ne...3#.VhukavmqpBc NOTE: Police HQ is across the highway from an Arab neighborhood. |
This occurred at the entrance to Jerusalem; The Arab was probably a resident of Abu Ghosh.
http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Ne...3#.Vhv0nysl9n4 http://www.jewishpress.com/news/brea...em/2015/10/12/ A friend of mine was boarding a bus departing behind the #185 mentioned in the article when this occurred. Quote:
http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/news/...is-weapon.html It is interesting that the terrorist boarded the bus before attacking, instead of attacking people at what was surely a crowded bus stop (the nearest bus stop to the attack site is an extension of the Jerusalem Central Bus Station, and is the first stop on that route). |

There are rumors that they are doing this now because they are desperate for support from their own constituents, and that the PLO may collapse very soon, either in favor of Hamas, the Islamic Movement (mentioned previously in this thread), or someone else. EDIT: NousDefions, your picture is displaying correctly now. I don't know why it wasn't displaying when I viewed this thread on a different computer. The massive deployment of police and military personnel seems to be effective. Meanwhile, there are also lots of posts circulating Facebook advising people how to boost their Situational Awareness (taking out the earbuds, keeping your eyes off your phone, etc). There have been a few "If you see something, say something!" moments-- some serious, some mundane upon investigation, all taken very seriously.
Today is Friday, so the Arabs are getting their weekly earful of "Kill Jews!" Outside of the cities, Arabs continue throwing rocks at traffic throughout Yehuda/Shomron. Here's a glimpse into European and American citizens supporting the Arabs. http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Ar...6#.ViCskysl9n4 :munchin |

When you, and others who are nearly indistinguishable from you, bite the hand that feeds you.... you shouldn't be surprised when that hand gives you the finger:
http://www.jewishpress.com/news/brea...ls/2015/10/18/ Muqata already reported that Arab workers are banned from Jewish communities in the Shomron region by order of the IDF commander responsible for that area. Additionally, communities in Gush Etzion are petitioning school faculties to fire all of their Arab janitors, and replace them with Jewish labor. Quote:
Is this a heavy-handed measure? Absolutely. But then, when Arabs with Israeli citizenship openly prefer to align with the PLO, and Arabs who passed background checks suddenly act as though they never should have received that chance, who can you trust? In related news: |
List of attacks since September 14:
https://www.idfblog.com/blog/2015/10...trikes-israel/ Attacks compiled into statistics, based on weapon of choice, category of victim(s), and day of the week. The article notes the uptick in attacks immediately following Abbas' speech at the UN: http://www.jewishpress.com/news/brea...rs/2015/10/19/ (The pie chart is very sloppy.) No surprises that the most attacks occur on Fridays. |

The Arabs continue to harass traffic in the Shomron and Yehuda regions, but attacks and riots in major cities appear to have tapered off... apparently they're suddenly afraid that biting the hand that feeds them (Jewish customers) might have consequences.
http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/202449 Meanwhile, the army and the police are busy thwarting other attacks before they happen, and are occasionally attacked as targets of opportunity. That being said, just because the Arabs aren't successful doesn't mean they aren't trying. http://www.jpost.com/Arab-Israeli-Co...st-Bank-430393 From a resident of the Shomron area, who works as a grocer: http://shilohmusings.blogspot.co.il/...ror-waned.html Of note: When she mentions that there are no Arab customers anymore, that is probably because of an order by a military commander in the region banning Arabs from entering Jewish communities. In sum: The situation continues to be what it is, but we can't barricade ourselves at home forever. |
