Jackie Kennedy Reportedly Believed LBJ Behind JFK Assassination

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/08/08...hind-husbands/

Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis believed Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson was behind the assassination of her husband, according to tapes recorded by the former first lady just months after President John F. Kennedy's death, the Daily Mail reports.

The tapes, which are set to be released by ABC News, reportedly reveal that Kennedy-Onassis believed then-vice president Johnson, along with businessmen in the South, planned the Nov. 22, 1963, assassination of her husband in Dallas, Texas.

Kennedy-Onassis thought gunman Lee Harvey Oswald -- long believed to be a lone assassin -- was part of a larger conspiracy involving Johnson, according to the Daily Mail.

The tapes, which were recorded with historian Arthur Schlesinger Jr., also reveal that Kennedy-Onassis had an affair with actor William Holden in retaliation to her husband's reported indiscretions, the Daily Mail reports.

The tapes, which were sealed in a vault at the Kennedy Library in Boston, were supposed to be released 50 years after Kennedy-Onassis' 1994 death. But her daughter, Caroline Kennedy, reportedly agreed to their early release in exchange for ABC dropping its drama series about the family. It is not yet known when the tapes will air.

Most of America felt LBJ was behind the JFK shooting, who had the most to gain from the incident, likely suspect, motive, etc.

LBJ also disrupted the investigation from a position of authority.

steel71 08-08-2011 10:25

I don't think he originated the idea, but I think he was involved in it. Like any detective investigating a crime: who benefits?

olhamada 08-08-2011 12:21

There was a great book written in 2003 that delineates LBJ's plot blow by blow. Very compelling. One of the most telling photos was LBJ's swearing in on AF1. The camera captured Jackie's grief and LBJ's smile as he was being sworn in. There was no shock, no fear, no sorrow.

Blood, Money, and Power.

Johnson did it, the mob did it, the CIA did it, Cuban dissidents did it, Oswald did it, the Russians did it. Maybe one day before I die the truth will be known.

"Them boys on the grassy knoll was dead and buried within 3 hours in the desert outside of Terlingua."

"You think there were shooters on the Grassy Knoll ?"

"Still got the shovel !!"

"Shooter?"

I hate it when a good quote is on the edge of my brain and I'm not 100% certain.

Edited to Add...I should trust my instincts...just confirmed through the wonder of "google."

Yup. Levon Helm, former drummer for The Band. Hard to believe a rock 'n' roll drummer could be such a good actor...

I hope you're being ironic, or at least facetious.

If Helm's a good actor, then Glenn Campbell should have recieved an Oscar for True Grit I. :D

Dusty- You don't like him?
He played Loretta Lynn's father in "Coal Miner's Daughter", amongst others. Not a major headline star but good as a character actor...

I honestly think he stinks, Bro, but I never saw Coal Miner's Daughter, so I'm prolly not completely qualified to judge his acting ability.

I did see "Fire Down Below", a Steven Seagall movie he was in, and that's when I formed my initial opinion.

I think the fact that the "Shooter" movie was the adaptation of a couple good fiction sniper books into a statement against the Bush administration prolly colors my disgust for Levon, especially with his "WMD" comment.

Plus, you can see his lips move while the other actor speaks a line. :D

He does have one good action scene in the flick:

Yeah, "Fire Down Below" was not a winner. He sold out to the Al Gore/Kill the White people crowd. I was hoping Seagal would get better but....

He did get heavier though.

You ever wonder why everyone had to run at him in a fight scene?

mark46th 08-09-2011 09:36

Did you see Seagal's reality show when he would ride with the police? He is "large". There were a couple of times where they showed him teaching some grabs and throws to the cops. He still is very smooth. I saw a video of him when he was in his early 20's. He was a blur and people were flying all over the room...

I knew a guy that worked out at Mackall when he came to visit. Ol' Steve knows his way around pistols too. I don't doubt his technical abilities in martial arts...but nowadays he can clean out a dinner table faster than a bar.

I just threw up in my mouth a little.......

I've seen Steve shoot and teach pistol shooting. Everything he knows about pistol shooting you could put onto the head of a pin....
No wonder he fights well......:D

Sorry...forgot the pink font...I'm fixing it.

Dusty 08-09-2011 10:03

He has a unique reload method: Throw the empty 1911 away and grab another from behind the belt.

That's from the movie where the Rastafarians kept calling him a "bloodclot", before he started talking like a hiphopper.

I always marvel at that technique...I think it was best used during the original Matrix. It's easier and lighter to carry 10 guns...than two and twenty magazines.

wet dog 08-09-2011 10:35

Levon Helm is a great performer, (singer, song writer, tramp), his acting is on tract with Kris Kristofferson. I do like watching him when he surfaces in those obscure roles. Best liked him as Chuck Yeagar's friend in The Right Stuff.

Steven Seagal may not be able to shoot, but he can however, move. I was used as a demo rag doll in Aikido, performing high breaking falls when he was in Denver, CO filiming the city scenes of Under Seige, part II. He attended a local Aikido dojo for daily PT. I threw him a couple of times, he got winded easily, could not handle the elevation for more than 1 minute at a time. Learned also, he actually is/was a cop for more years than most realize. A reservist sheriff in LA County.

All time best obscure actor I always enjoyed watching, Harry Dean Stanton.

greenberetTFS 08-09-2011 11:49

I've heard the same about Sam Elliot, but in my book he's a terrific actor.......;):D

It's a "Mr. Haney" clip from Green Acres.

I also like the guy who played "Rex" in "Napolean Dynamite" and Jethro Bodine.

The History Channel did a relatively good job on a documentary about the assassination of Kennedy using every piece of film that was taken or shot at the scene on that day.

The part that got me wondering was how quickly LBJ gathered everyone up including Jackie dragged them to the plane and was sworn in. As soon as that was done Jackie was allowed to go back to JFK. Some of the pictures and video taken show almost everyone smiling except Jackie.

Things that make you go hmmmm...

mark46th 08-09-2011 13:06

I always wondered about the shots. The first one through the neck threw him forward and he grabbed at his throat. The second one snapped his head back when it struck him, blowing the top of his head off and his brains all over the trunk...

I still don't believe he got those 3 shots off in that time frame, let alone those confirmed hits with that particular rifle.......... I'll believe it if one of "our" own snipers tells me he does!...........

BT, I'm a long range shooter, but I never went to any Military sniper courses. I've studied long range shooting and have hunted extensively, however.

Three accurate shots could definitely have been made with that weapon in that length of time.

However: The film sequence showing Kennedy's head going the wrong way from the last bullet doesn't look like it was shot from behind him. That opinion is formed from observing what animals' heads did when I shot them from a distance with a rifle or pistol.

I met Jackie once the late 60s. After a pretty wild evening she filled me in on a lot of stuff. I even wrote about it and it was published.

It began:

Dear Penthouse......:D:p
