Unusual request perhaps - Jungle Fatigues

I have a need for a set of Viet Nam era jungle fatigues. Does anyone know of repros being made? I have my originals but my skeletal frame from back in the day has put on a few pounds.

Only if they bring back the old Invalid Corps.:D

I just threw away a couple of pairs of tiger stripes...Sorry.

Hard to believe I weighed 130 lbs when I was medevacced out in 66. Those days are long gone.

Seeing what originals are going for now, you'd better dig through the trash!!

I've got several X-small Long and Small Regular - not sure whose they were, but they have my name on them - if that helps. We got unlimited amounts when my ODA worked at JOTC in Panama.

At those prices, it sure is tempting. I kept one set of my OG-107s (jacket has lower pockets removed and sewn to upper sleeves so the shirt could be worn tucked in, "O-Pos" printed over left breast pocket), one pair of jungle boots, my cotton web A-7A strap belt, and stabo harness. If the economy gets bad enough, I might have to sell them...otherwise, they'll be passed on to my sons with my dress greens. ;)

I've got 4 or 5 pairs of issue jungle boots, never worn, in size 8 1/2 R - seems I'm a 9 now.

You guys sound like a couple of VNAF A-1E pilots - a pair of pliers. Do you also wear LARGE wristwatches?

Thanks for the tips gentlemen.

mark46th 07-12-2011 18:35

I have a full set of Camo Jungle fatigues from the 46th Co, even have the Thai Jump Wings on 'em...

Utah Bob 07-12-2011 19:22

I still have one set of Jungle fatigues and a set of Tiger Stripes. Display items only nowadays. No way I'll ever squeeze into them again.

Unfortunately, it is worse than I thought! I dug through the duffel bag, and I was an 8, not an 8 1/2... but am still a 9! If an 8 will do you... squeeze that foot in... let me know. Never worn. Panama sole. I'll cover up my SSAN, which - like a good troop - I'd written into the inside as soon as I got them. :D

Name your price. I have greenbacks and some leftover MPCs.;)

Richard 07-13-2011 21:50

Bob - that "C" cap you're wearing is making it difficult to sleep without waking up screaming in the middle of the night.

Just picture me standing on the other side of the Iron Curtain back in the day, posing as a rather dull infantry private in Tito's HQ, while worming my way into the kitchen detail, bottle of Ricin concealed behind my commie belt buckle.;)

Richard 07-13-2011 22:08

So...if I ever see you with your buckle undone and an umbrella in your hand, I should run?
