AL :munchin |
St Louis is on the miserable list because of. . . . the . . . Rams? That is ridiculous!
This is a Baseball town! With Albert and the boys, this place is better then the Magic Kingdom. Must really suck to be from Chicago -- Bears, Cubbies and Bulls |
I'm pretty much miserable whenever I'm in any city. ;)

Is there something about living near the great lakes that makes it especially crappy? 25% of the towns on that list are near a great lake.

Washington DC should have been on the list. What a toilet bowl. |
Criteria include violent crime, unemployment, foreclosures and abandoned housing, taxes, commute times, weather, superfund pollution sites, and sports teams (when applicable).
I like it pretty well here in North Texas. :D And so it goes... Richard's $.02 :munchin |

And while the above is bad, what would really launch us to the top can be summarized in two words: THE LEAfS. jaYson |
Looks like Ohio is, overall the shittiest place to be . . .
|
Not in any of them, I like it that way.
How did Washington DC not wind up on the list, politics alone should have done it . RF 1 |

I've been to DC a few times to visit friends and enjoyed it. Memphis on the other hand... I will say though, I hated not being able to CCW in DC. |

Before Dozer jumps in and suggests a proctologist....let me clarify by saying a sociologist, economist or perhaps even a historian. My general understanding would come from the loss of industry and jobs but apparently it goes deeper than that as overall governance, labor movement and draft picks seem to add fuel to the fire so-to-speak. |
They elected Dennis Kucinich as Mayor of Cleveland in 1977, and he quite literally bankrupt the city and drove business out of the state. :(

I'm not too shocked to see Miami up there, I heard Florida was in the top 5 as far as unemployment goes. Also happens to be the 3rd highest prison population, and a few cities came up on that 'most dangerous cities'. I'm too distracted by the perks to be worried about the bad, if I were in Chicago, I would be a popsicle, unemployed, and maybe a little more bored than I would out here.

Big Teddy, quit spreading bad rumors about me. Besides you don't need the cubbies, you have the Saints now:D I like Ohio -- they have the Cincinatti (oh well even spell check can't figure it out) Reds! |
