I guess some lessons are just never learned, even by QP's. This should never have made it past the team room.

SF_BHT 02-25-2009 07:29

That is why we never allowed personal cameras........

mark46th 03-08-2009 19:49

Agree- Some leftie reporter gets hold of this, the next thing ya know, someone is on trial as a war criminal. But I did like the vehicle mounted mini...

HQ6 03-08-2009 20:10

Is there anyway to send messages through Youtube to ask this guy to take this down?

morolen 03-08-2009 21:13

Click on his name in the upper right, I already sent him a msg but the mores the merrier I suppose.

armymom1228 03-08-2009 21:50

This guy Bouhammer, has been posting stuff for a long time.

My only objection is to showing faces.. showing the nick 'bitch slap betty'.. that is fairly easy to track by bad guys..
good footage though. Pretty country... nice, nice minigun.

guys name, I think, is troy steward..
one of his uploads.. vol I 'my life in Astan"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8R3zh...e=channel_page
has his name on the front page..

I'm at work so I can't check out this vid. I've already sent the link to my home computer to check it there. If anyone has any info on the vid or the maker before I get it I would appreciate it.

Trust me...the T.S. during that period is NOT happy right now.

I don't know who "Troy Steward" is either...any info there would be greatly appreciated as well.

1stindoor 03-16-2009 14:33

I got to see the video. I do not know who this "1SG" is, nor do I know how he came into possession of this video. But I am trying to find out, I definitely appreciate any help.

zfm7th 03-16-2009 16:32

Not good

There is nothing good that can come out of a video like this. What happens in the team room......

In a way there is something that can come out good...

TS's will show this as an example of what NOT to do online.

He is definitely a Member of the New York Army National Guard, 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team. Numerous pictures showing unit crest and I Love NY.

http://dmna.state.ny.us/arng/27bct/27bct.php

Was not able to determine exact unit, but appears they were at Camp Lightning, (My life in Astan, vol 2 @ 3:13/5:52)

Clear picture of the 1SG (My life in Astan, vol 2 @ 4:12/5:53)

He does appear to be living in NY, based on his Christmas 2008 Video.

You QP's can take it from here, I will go back to my lane. ;)

Admin's please edit the 1SG's name if not appropriate here, he does show it in his videos.

1stindoor 03-17-2009 08:55

Thanks everyone for the help. I spent a good amount of time looking at his other videos, so I have a start point in which to begin asking "direct" questions.

As was mentioned earlier this is definitely a "learning experience" for others. Unfortunately, this video has been out for 7 months on youtube so the "damage" is done.

1stindoor 03-17-2009 09:20

Okay, I finally got through to the NY unit he is assigned to and spoke to their current 1SG, and although I didn't get to talk to 1SG Steward...I am now in possession of his personal cell number and I've already left him his first message. More to follow.

1stindoor 03-17-2009 11:17

I talked with the 1SG earlier. He's not entirely sure where it came from originally (most likely through the ETT net) but he's going to take it off the site. He was exceptionally nice to talk to and apologized if it caused any problems. I said that the damage, if any, beyond simple jackassery was done and informed him that OPSEC was my primary concern.

Alterflow 03-17-2009 11:20

Looks like hes already taken it off.

Red Finch 05-27-2009 13:01

Moral of the story...

While the original link to the video in question is indeed dead, using the "vehicle mounted mini-gun" as a reference point, I quickly found what I believe is the same video albeit posted by another user ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJ0eO...rom=PL&index=1 )

:boohoo So, the moral of the story is: that by publishing any information or media on the internet, one immediately relinquishes all control over that content, making it near impossible to rectify one's errors.

Yes you are... didn't your mom teach you anything at all? Honestly... but she never said how loud that (air) knock had to be, now did she?:D

OTOH, a solid kick on the door can, in some quarters be considered a form of knocking.. and if the door happens to fall open... oh well..
I mean some doors just seem to open by themselves ya know..
