Val Kilmer's personal opinion on Vietnam Vets
More stereotypical Bovine Scatology from the left.
____________________________ Another to put on the list of actors whose movies you don't go to... Here Weird Val's talking about a run for governor of New Mexico - http://newmexicoindependent.com/1592...-guv-run-again A portion of the article at the link above (taken from a 2005 Esquire interview): [Klosterman]: You mean you think you literally had the same experience as Doc Holliday? Kilmer: Oh, sure. It’s not like I believed that I shot somebody, but I absolutely know what it feels like to pull the trigger and take someone’s life. [Klosterman:] You understand how it feels to shoot someone as much as a person who has actually committed a murder? [Kilmer] I understand it more. It’s an actor’s job. A guy who’s lived through the horror of Vietnam has not spent his life preparing his mind for it. He’s some punk. Most guys were borderline criminal or poor, and that’s why they got sent to Vietnam. It was all the poor, wretched kids who got beat up by their dads, guys who didn’t get on the football team, couldn’t finagle a scholarship. They didn’t have the emotional equipment to handle that experience. But this is what an actor trains to do. I can more effectively represent that kid in Vietnam than a guy who was there. |
OK he really needs a Piss Test because he is on DRUGS. What an ASS
|
Val Kilmer should read more and speak less, he's not reading his "stickies". What a pussbag!
|
It's sickening how ignorant some people are.
|
Why do any of us care what a left coaster who plays dress up says?
|
Who?
;) What a moron. |
Yet another actor, acting like he knows something.

Hey Iceman, you are a ginormous tool bag! Scary to think of how many people think this way. So are you only 'acting' like a douche? Or is this something you've 'prepared your whole life' for?
|
so by his very own logic... If he is more doc Holiday than Doc Holiday was, then he is also more Batman than the "real" batman which means he has a split personality that is bent on violent vigilante justice and lives with a young boy that he takes on all of his "adventures"
...and he should be able to tell us where the treasure of the Templars is hidden as well. What a jackass. |
dumbass
I guess if what he is saying is true, then Rambo is the most bad ass mother@#@#@# who ever lived. This guy needs a reality check, and a kick in the face!
|
Learned to do gun play,but...
should have gotten a better grip on the drugged out Doc Holiday.

This dirt bag is just another hate filled Liberal spouting the Hollywood mantra, he isn't worth our time. The damage he does is to the young and ignorant who will listen to his biased BS and accept it...I once explained to a sitting President (Clinton) why I proudly chose to serve my Country in Uniform, and that I willingly put my life on the line on a daily basis to insure those freedoms which all in this Country had grown up with. It frustrates the hell out of me that celebreties instill awe in certain individuals, and therefore have a Bully Pulpit anytime they want to spout their drivel. |
once again...like I've said about others.....the people of New Mexico will elect this idiot Governor.....because he's Val "Kill More"......he's the punk!

I can safely say, I don't care much for the Hollyweird elite either, so there. :p

I am not even so sure that 'IceMan' is truly being 'hateful' or even that he holds the military in disdain. I am of the opinion that like many of his hollywood peers, he is simply delusional. He knows what its like to kill a man because he played the part of a drunken dentist turned card player in a 'Western' movie. None-the-less...
some are tolerable some are not. 'GrandPa' Munster for instance went to his grave refering to himself as "GrandPa" hell he sued to have his name on the ballot as "GrandPa' Al Lewis when he ran for Gov. of New York. I dont think Val Kilmer is malicious is his behavior or feelings, I just think he follows in the footsteps of his peers. He is a delusional hollyweird actor. I could be wrong, maybe he really is a jackass. |
I never liked the SOB anyway! What an Ass Clown!

Guys!! They are all a bunch of fools that live in a make believe world. They give themselves awards, to make themselves feel important, and slap each other on they idiot backs so they can tell each other how much worth they are when in fact they are worthless.
Ignore the fools, there is nothing to see here, move along, move along. |
I couldn't have said it better myself.

Hey, I once saw a sniper make a 1000 meter shot. Think I should ask that dork to finance my long-range shooting school?
|
Once upon a time in the early 1990's Kilmer walked off a radio interview in Los Angeles because the radio hosts dared to ask him questions which were not on the pre-approved list. Every since I heard that little tantrum, I have no interest in anything he says or does.
Just curious if he knows that political reports won't abide by a list of pre-approved questions even for the mighty Val :lifter |
At least now I understand what it is about him that I never really cared for or liked. I suppose he is running for political office because he is doing so well at the box office???:lifter

Very disappointed in Val. You would think it would only take one of the many thousands of books on Vietnam to clue Val into reality. Guess Val is going to continue to rely on holly wood movies that always seem to protray our guys trying to kill each other. Can't wait for someone like Mel Gibson to step up and make Band Of Brothers 2 (Vietnam SOG, with guys singing old blue with Martha Ray and all. The story needs to be made into a mini series. 2 hour movie won't do it justice. Sad because Val could have played Jerry "Mad Dog" Shiver. I understand John was awarded the Silver Star for calling in an air strike on top of what was left of his recon team (RT Idaho) in the Ashau Valley. Then he provided first aid to his men saving several of them. I was honored to read his story and at least everyone in my family knows his service and the fact he would never discuss actions that day. He was old school! |
At least Ginger was funny when she did it!
In the old Gilligan's Island, didn't Ginger always say how she knew how to do something because she had played such a part in a movie? That show was a comedy and everyone knew what she said was a joke. Val is a joke too, he just doesn't realize it. Tauris Excretum Ad Infinitum

Val Kilmer lives in his own little fantasy world.

I don't get it.... Who gives a s*#t about what VK thinks about our Vietnam Vets. We know what our boys went through over there and that "draft dodger" isn't worth replying to..........

They Just Don't make Hollywood Actors Like They Used To.
I got this email from my mom about old Hollywood actors and the roles they played in past wars. I checked most of them out using Wikipedia and was surprised to see that the contributions stated were true - not that I don't trust email. They definately are/were a different cut than Val. You just don't see this anymore.
Alec Guinness Operated a British Royal Navy landing craft on D-Day. James Doohan ("Scotty" on Star Trek) Landed in Normandy with the U. S.. Army on D-Day. Donald Pleasance (The Great Escape) Really was an R... A. F. pilot who was shot down, held prisoner and tortured by the Germans. David Niven Was a Sandhurst graduate and Lt. Colonel of the British Commandos in Normandy James Stewart Entered the Army Air Force as a private and worked his way to the rank of Colonel. During World War II, Stewart served as a bomber pilot, his service record crediting him with leading more than 20 missions over Germany , and taking part in hundreds of air strikes during his tour of duty. Stewart earned the Air Medal, the Distinguished Flying Cross, France 'S Croix de Guerre, and 7 Battle Stars during World War II. In peace time, Stewart continued to be an active member of the Air Force as a reservist, reaching the rank of Brigadier General before retiring in the late 1950s Clark Gable (Mega-Movie Star when war broke out) Although he was beyond the draft age at the time the U.S. entered WW II, Clark Gable enlisted as a private in the AAF on Aug. 12, 1942 at Los Angeles. He attended the Officers' Candidate School at Miami Beach , Fla. and graduated as a second lieutenant on Oct. 28, 1942. He then attended aerial gunnery school and in Feb. 1943 he was assigned to the 351st Bomb Group at Polebrook where flew operational missions over Europe in B-17s. Capt. Gable returned to the U..S. in Oct. 1943 and was relieved from active duty as a major on Jun. 12, 1944 at his own request, since he was over-age for combat. Charlton Heston Was an Army Air Corps Sergeant in Kodiak. Ernest Borgnine Was a U. S. Navy Gunners Mate 1935-1945 Charles Bronson Was a tail gunner in the Army Air Corps, more specifically on B-29's in the 20th Air Force out of Guam, Tinian, and Saipan Tyrone Power (an established movie star) When Pearl Harbor was bombed) joined the U.S. Marines, was a pilot flying supplies into, and wounded Marines out of, Iwo Jima and Okinawa Audie Murphy little 5'5" tall 110 pound guy from Texas who played cowboy parts: Most Decorated serviceman of WWII and earned: Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Cross, 2 Silver Star Medals, Legion of Merit, 2 Bronze Star Medals with "V", 2 Purple Hearts, U..S. Army Outstanding Civilian Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, 2 Distinguished Unit Emblems, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with One Silver Star, Four Bronze Service Stars (representing nine campaigns) and one Bronze Arrowhead (representing assault landing at Sicily and Southern France) World War II Victory Medal Army of Occupation Medal with Germany Clasp, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Marksman Badge with Rifle Bar, Expert Badge with Bayonet Bar, French Fourragere in Colors of the Croix de Guerre, French Legion of Honor, Grade of Chevalier, French Croix de Guerre W ith Silver Star, French Croix de Guerre with Palm, Medal of Liberated France, Belgian Croix de Guerre 1940 Palm I guess that just because one plays a character does not always mean one has character. Well not these days anyway . . . |
Val Kilmer
I am a fan of Val Kilmer but was dissapointed by the remarks that he made during the interview with Esquire. While America's ordinary sons were fighting and dying to check communist expansion in Southeast Asia he was enjoying a comfortable upbringing in an upper middle class family. I think that Val needs to go to Washington, D.C. and on a quiet Sunday afternoon take a slow stroll along the Wall. The experience would move him. After that he could apologize to the Vietnam Veterans of America for taking an ignorance pill on the morning that he gave that interview.
