Greetings
Per the rules and out of courtesy i am posting an intro.
My name is Shawn and Im from Texas. I am a FT LEO and also a 3rd generation US Marine. I come here seeking knowledge from wiser men I am hoping to contribute, if needed, my LEO experience (since 99). I am by no means a SME on LE activity, but I have been a ptrlman, investigator and back to ptrl as a sgt. I am currently the assistant team leader for our SRT (narc/HRWS). I am also basic SWAT cert. I am in NE Texas and have 300 acres, love to hunt and fish. I am currently researching the 1911 platform, having owned 6 Sigs so far, the SA 1911 is new ground and i am hoping to search here and learn. Lastly, as i tell every Vet i meet, I APPRECITE YOUR SERVICE... |
Chris here. I'm a current college senior graduating in May 08. I am currently prepping for the 18x program. I am always looking for information on the program and the military in general.
If anyone can give more advice on how to prep for SFAS, especially with the running, rucking and the purchase of gear to prep for selection I would definitely appreciate it. Thanks guys. |

Gents,
I joined up to seek out some additional information and solid direction on opportunities and options that exist on the National Guard SF side of the house. I am former Air Force, I separated last year and am looking to get back into the game and have a few more kicks before it’s too late, I miss the camaraderie you can only get through a close knit unit. |
Hello,
I'm a former Marine who is now an Oregon Army National Guard 13F. I'll just read quietly for a while. |
Hey guys, I'm Jon, I'm currently finishing up high school and looking at enlisting either this year or after college, it all depends... either way I am joining up! I love weapons, exercise, and anything pertaining to the military specifically SOF units.
I Came here because of the abundance of fantastic info to help me get into Special Forces. I've read a lot of great things so far and have learned so much in the last three days. |
Introduction
Gentlemen, my name is Anthony and I am non-prior service SF candidate from Alabama enlisted as a REP-63 with the 1/20th SFG. I am scheduled to ship 20080319 to Fort Benning for OSUT. I am 29 years old and currently a high school educator completing an interim position until I ship. SF is something that I have thought about every day since I graduated high school, but have never pursued because of a variety of reasons. Honestly, before the last couple years, I didn’t have the “certainty of path” to commit to it. I tested the ROTC waters in college (LTC and Ranger Challenge) but decided that wasn’t the best route for me. I was fortunate enough to meet and observe a former SF soldier for a month at LTC. He was Cpt. Maes at that point, but was enlisted while in SF. His professionalism and influence burned in me the desire to be like that. Being the first SF soldier I had ever met, he made a big impact. I hope at the successful end of the pipeline I can get in touch with him and thank him for that. I have been fortunate with all my experiences, but through them all I knew I wouldn’t be satisfied if I didn’t pursue this. I’m not a badass, I just want the chance to give all I have, earn and live the tab, and protect my fellow soldiers to the best of my ability. I have been a member for a while, but this will likely be the last time I post until I make some progress in the pipeline. Thanks to everyone who has served and who contributes to this site.

Hello. I am a graduate of USMC OCS awaiting my commission in May after I graduate from college. I came here to read and learn.
|
Hello all, I am currently stationed at Bragg and slotted for SFAS in March. I came here to seek out all the guidance possible to increase my understanding of the SF mentality. I have thought about this opportunity everyday since my commissioning in May of '04. Any tips for my training prior to SFAS and after during the Q course would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome all...
Pepe, you might start in the "Pipeline" section of the forums and read, read, read and do PT on your breaks. |
