hello everyone, im 20 years old and I attend Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. stumbled across this site while doing some SF research online. Been interested in a career in Spec Ops for some time now. My father retired after almost 20 years in the Navy SEAL teams. I always thought SEALs was what I wanted to do, but doing my own research, something about SF stood out to me. I look forward to my time on this site, and thank you for your service.

Welcome aboard Hokie!

Welcome aboard Al. For those of you curious enough to check out his profile you should not be drawing any conclusions about the Duke and I corrupting this young troop as a 2LT in his first SF assignment:D

Hello Gentlemen,

I have spent a lot of time researching and contemplating whether or not to go for SF. I have finally decided to go through with it and have recently signed an 18x contract. I will be shipping 20080128. I realize I have a difficult task ahead of me, but I am confident in my ability to persevere. I feel very fortunate to have been exposed to this site. It is well run and has been very informative. Thank you and keep up the good work!

I'm Not really sure what to put here, so here goes.
My name is Sgt. Axel, I joined the army in 99' as a 11X (now 11B). Spent 3 yrs at Bragg with 1-505th PIR in Aco,HHC and Bco. Ranger class 5-01,EIB,Airborne and a few other misc. things. In 02' I hit my ETS date and went to school for a while, then sighned back up in 04', for a fun 22month deployment to good ole' Iraq, with the MN guard. Now I am planning to tryout for A 2/20th and take it from there. I'm just here to observe for the most part.

Thanks
Sgt.Axel

Hello All, while in the basement of the McClure building a friend recommended this site. And since it is rude to be a total parasite I figured I’d log in and introduce myself… After shipping over from the Marines I attended SFAS and was selected to be a medic in May ’94. I attended the last 300F1 class in Ft. Sam and ‘med lab’ at Ft. Bragg before becoming the team medic on ODAs 041, 044, and 794 and finally the Team Sergeant of 797 in ’05. I look forward a good exchange of information, but don’t be surprised if I am not the most punctual at replying, it all depends on my internet connection and time management. But I do look forward to the opportunity for a good exchange of information...

Hello all,

I am currently a Reserve O1 (25A) trying to get into Civil Affairs. I was not prior enlisted. I've been lurking here for a long while (years) without the need to register. Recently I needed to PM someone, so I finally registered. My civilian background is in software in the Defense Industry. I get to make things that fly figure out how to make things that don't fly go boom.

This may well be my only post. So I will take the opportunity to say thank you all for this resource.

Introduction

Good afternoon everyone,

My apologies for not having done this sooner. I am a former Marine 0351 with L Co. 3/5 from 2002-2006. I decided after 3 tours that I should give college a try. So, I traded in being a "Hollywood Marine" to becoming just another SOCAL beach bum. Well to keep it simple I realized not everyone is meant to wear a suit and tie and do the 9-5, some of us are meant to play in the mud. I plan on talking to a recruiter to go 18X after the semester is up.

Thank You for all the information.

"Hollywood Marine" when said by others just shows a twinge of jealousy :p

...proceeding to run for cover from expected incoming

Hope to be heading to 10th group but we shall see..... focusing on Arabic is what I am doing now.
