Promotion?

Hey, I just noticed that I’ve been promoted to “Auxiliary”.
One of the units I was in required that you knock out pushups in front of the company formation while others poured garbage from the mess hall trash cans on you; right after they pinned the stripes on. Hope you guys don’t have similar traditions!:D

Very interesting definitions for the titles...at the rate I am going, I could be hurting for promotion:eek: ;)

I do like to see custom ones for the frequent /well respected contributors (ex. Doc T). Otherwise, who really cares what their title says if it is based on post count alone. Just my .02 Senior NDD

I agree with Sacamuelas--leave alone. I try to read much much more than I post because I am an old f**t and my knowledge is way out of date.

Since this old thread got dug up ;)
Yes, I have a comment/suggestion. I think there needs to be an addition.

War Fighter (Minimum Posts: 1500)

You are probably not aware of the source for the titles. Each has to do with a role played by an individual in Unconventional Warfare. All are war fighters in one sense or another.

I know where the names come from. I just kind of like that word.

Okay, let me be a little more direct in keeping with your response. Pardon me for assuming that you were unaware of the origin of the subsets of titles, I foolishly thought that because your suggestion had no bearing on the other titles that you might not have considered suggesting a title that had a similar context.

Sacamuelas 02-03-2007 03:07

Sir Jack... you are truly an oak. Not all would be so measured in their remarks.

Is that the verbal equivalant of throwing off pursuit or just a real nice way of saying this is an old topic and it's closed?

Actually when you made your suggestion I reviewed your profile which led me to believe that you might not have had the background you evidently do to realize the significance of the titles. I even toyed with the idea of defining each and providing an example of what roles they acutally played. As I was not really sure about the depth of your understanding and as I did not want to sound condesending or have you think I was treating you like an idiot, I decided just to make a simple statement so as not to offend you. It was just a feeble old soldier's attempt to provide you with some additional background , unbeknownst to me that you did not need, with which you could make another suggestion. But as you point out, this is an old topic and yes, it is closed.

Same here. I've never served with Col M; but, from what little I've gotten to know him, I'd take his word on anything he said as Gospel.

Careful where you tread, CRad. Col M is the real deal.

I think CRad is familiar with the Special Forces mindset.
