I mean look what I have to work with. A population that takes pride in calling themselves woodchucks and everyone else flat landers. I mean what can you do with folks that align their identity with a rodent that sleeps half the year, lives in a hole in the ground, subsists on food that others grow for him and gleefully seems to martyr themselves by running under car tires. To represent their issues to their government they send the only socialist in Congress (Bernie Sanders), one Senator that can't make up his mind what he believes in ( Jim Jeffords) and Patrick Leahy who looks not like a flat lander but a flat liner who thinks his destiny is to undermine the federal judiciary. And spotting folks to create my intell, commo, and security networks is no piece of cake. Hell everyone wears a parka up here 8 months out of the year and when they do get down to wearing items of clothing that should betray their sex and age it is sort of like trying to hunt for turkeys, you gotta pay attention to the presence and the length of the beard because everyone has a frigging pony tail. All is not lost, however, the area complex is maturing.

Jack - I know it's against the rules and somebody will probably call me on it but I have to apologize! I got in a hurry and confused VT and NH mottos :o. (Not from 'round there in case you hadn't figured that out.) I didn't realize how precarious your position was until your last BTB. (Course you have decided to sacrifice for the cause because you're still there.) My last office has/had a former 10th Gp (Devens) guy with family in MA & VT who was kind enough to educate us on the French Canadian problem, added a new euphamism to our vocabulary - nuances not fit to print! He also filled us in on some of the other issues. Maybe you ought to consider snowbirding it. Get far enough south and parkas are never an issue. Sandy beaches, palm trees and indig wearing "hilo dental" (it's hard to hide your true character under 5cm2 of fabric) makes recruiting auxiliary something of a personal crusade:D. YIS - Peregrino

I should have said NEA twice!

1. The National Education Association.
2. National Endowment for the Arts.

Absolutely no apology necessary, with all the liberals up here I sort of consider this a target rich environment. As tempting as it would be to head south, can't. After 18 moves I have finally thrown out all the stereo boxes that were being held together with those multi-colored inventory stickers. :D
