About 4 minutes. :p

WM?

Roguish Lawyer 08-01-2005 13:11

Looks like the ps.com clock is 3 minutes behind the official clock.

Perhaps there should be a bidding run-off given the uncertainty and importance of the cause? :munchin

I'm game if jatx is.

WM, what do you think?

I suspect that jatx will stipulate, being a gentleman and all. :munchin

jatx 08-01-2005 13:26

Hmm, what do you have in mind? A match of wits or of brawn? How about a test to see who can do the most star jumpers with a twist before collapsing?

More bidding.

Warrior-Mentor 08-01-2005 13:32

RL is right...we shouldn't stop an auction in the middle of bidding...

Open to suggestions.

TS what do you think? besides putting this on e-bay next time?

Team Sergeant 08-01-2005 13:34

I'm not a lawyer but I know who is.....

RL what do you think would be fair?

The Reaper 08-01-2005 13:43

Some auction boards (other than ebay) have an anti-sniping measure to keep last second lurkers from waiting to see what the price will be and jumping on it.

They require an additional amount of time to expire after the last bid, extending the auction (even if the closing time arrives) another 15 minutes or so to allow others to up their bids.

TR

jatx 08-01-2005 13:50

I'm sure that Aric would agree there was no snipe here. We both stood there and stared at each other across the ether for ten minutes, but were unfortunately going by different clocks. I'll go along with whatever you guys think is fair, though.

But if we're still bidding, I'm in for $400. :)

Yeah, I thought I might be overstepping, as the admins hadn't decided what to do yet.

It was 380 FWIW.

Warrior-Mentor 08-01-2005 14:45

WHAT IF...

What if TS & I agreed to double to booty and allowed you to freeze your bids at the 12 noon price?

You BOTH WIN the auction at the price you agreed to pay at noon.

You BOTH WIN by getting ALL the loot you wanted.

The Warrior Foundation WINS and almost DOUBLES their take?

Fair enough?

JM

P.S. Where the hell is DF with the smack talk about not quitting? :munchin

Roguish Lawyer 08-01-2005 15:58

W-M is all about winning. I like the proposal, so I will defer any response to the question posed above until we hear from the parties.

That would be very generous and more than fair...

I'm game if everyone else is.

Regards,
Aric

!!
With all due respect sir, I think I will take a normal copy, and acquire a new BC with the extra money! :D
Seriously, 400 is 500 here, and it is too much for my wallet. And beside I know there are some serious 18xrays nuts out here who are coming from many months of basic and infantry training, and they didnt spent much yet, lol! Not mentioning RL, who is also pretty rough on touch.

Warrior-Mentor 08-01-2005 17:18

Fair enough...I wouldn't have called you out if you hadn't posted this...

It is a lot of money, and you should not have to pay it if you didn't bid on it.

At the same time, let's save the trash talking in the future unless you are really serious.

TR

jatx 08-01-2005 19:15

Sounds fair to me, too. PM inbound, WM.

Guy 08-01-2005 23:41

$400

Let me know where to send the money? :munchin

Take care.
