Since democrats are not held accountable for what they say or lie about the skies the limit. And if you call them out on it you’re either a racist or chauvinist.

Perhaps if enough people did a write in vote for "none of the above"?
We need a leader that is a good mix of:
1. John Wayne
2. Ronald Reagan
3. Clint Eastwood
4. Lee Marvin
5. Aude Murphy
6. Chuck Norris
7. Charles Bronson
8. Robin Williams (a president gotta have a senseof humor)

Any ideas?

I'd vote for anyone that came close to any of the above. Who picks these canidates, anyway?

The Moral Side of War: Hillary, Bosnia’s Last Casualty

The Moral Side of War: Hillary, Bosnia’s Last Casualty

March 28th, 2008 by Richard F. Miller

He that shall live this day, and see old age,Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,And say ‘To-morrow is Saint Crispian:’Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars. And say ‘These wounds I had on Crispin’s day.’Old men forget: yet all shall be forgot,But he’ll remember with advantagesWhat feats he did that day:
—Henry V, William Shakespeare

As the above suggests, society has always been somewhat tolerant in permitting certain persons to embellish war stories–as long as they were veterans, bore arms honorably, and were actually present at the engagement. After all, few care if a soldier who actually fought his way out of the Bastogne exaggerates the number of enemy he may have killed, the cold temperatures, or the men whose lives he may have saved. And most readers of Henry V believe that the words, “he’ll remember with advantages/What feats he did that day” specifically refer to a right to embellish. Perhaps it’s something that one earns by simply having been there and survived. And actually being a veteran is the only thing that makes such talk acceptable, if not entirely respectable. I’ve known a number of combat journalists, and outside of their reporting, few will personally discuss their own experiences, let alone add to it in some way to pretend to valor. Such folks have seen the real McCoy and wouldn’t think of, to paraphrase a recent author on the subject, “stealing valor.”

However, war fakers seem to come in two varieties: there are younger people wearing ragged, current issue uniforms whose MOS now includes Winter Soldiering (and turn out to have been either Fobbitts or in drug rehab without having served a day.) And then there are the politicians. Before the internet, there were arguably more such pols, because determining whether somebody served as a Navy SEAL or in the army of the Student Deferred was so much harder than now. Today, a pol is only an internet key stroke away from having his or her career wrecked.

But Hillary, Hero of Tuzla, has given us something new: she never claimed to have served a day in uniform but there she was on a Bosnian tarmac, ducking sniper fire with Chelsea. You see Bill had to make tough calls as commander-in-chief. And in war, somebody is always expendable. (Hey, FDR did the same thing during WWII: when Colonel Carlson’s Second Marine Raider Battalion was ordered to raid Makin Island, the president’s son Jimmy, never physically well, went ashore nonetheless. Well, I think it’s the same thing, isn’t it?)

Meanwhile, in an irony that could stand for just how morally corrupt our political leadership has become, when General Petreaus testified before Hillary last fall, she questioned his credibility.

Some might call it pure, unmitigated chutzpah.

But I’m much more forgiving. I figure that last week, Hillary was just suffering from PTSD.

Take a peek at the incredible world according to Hillary

Take a peek at the incredible world according to Hillary
By KEVIN MYERS
Friday March 28 2008

Welcome to Good Morning Ireland, and it's hard to keep up with Hillary Clinton's many escapades, not to speak of the curious amnesia which assails other people when they try to remember them.

Only the other week she was telling us about how she had brought Northern Ireland's women's groups -- who, she said, had never met before -- into groundbreaking talks. But the women concerned said they'd been talking amiably for years.

Mrs Clinton now alleges that when she arrived to bring peace to Bosnia, she had to run for cover from intense sniper fire as she left her plane. But the actual news footage of her arrival shows her being greeted warmly by a girl with flowers.

Fortunately, for the second time in a fortnight, we have Hillary Clinton with us here in the studio. How do you explain that discrepancy?

"BOCGI: Barak Obama Computer Generated Imagery! I took a bullet in the shoulder that day, and never said a word. It was the same foot I got shot in when I was flying the last helicopter off the embassy roof in Saigon. Bill was my door- gunner, with a teenage Vietnamese girl in each pocket. The moment we landed, he thoughtfully took them off to give them a bath, while I tended to the bullet wound in my calf. Still troubles me when it's damp, right here in my hip."

Sorry, I thought your husband was a draft-dodger.

"Yeah, that's right, Bill was raft-logging in a timber-camp in Montana right up until he volunteered for the Green Berets. That's how we first met, on a deep penetration raid into North Vietnam. We didn't meet up again until after I'd got back from leading the rescue mission at Entebbe. My, that was close. I got shot in my thigh again. Must be a magnet there.

"Then we married, and I got pregnant with my darling little Fulham. So I had to leave the Navy SEALS."

But you were always active in Bill's career, isn't that right?

"It sure is. After I rescued the hostages in Teheran, I was able to dedicate myself full-time to Bill's public life -- when I wasn't minding little Arsenal, that is. The apple of my eye."

I'm sure she is.

When is her birthday?

"What a question. Crystal Palace's birthday falls on the anniversary of the day she was born, every year, without fail. But only once a year -- usually on some day between a Sunday and a Saturday. It varies, you know, from year to year.

"When I was astronomer general, I tried to fix it so that Millwall's birthday would always fall on a Monday -- but I came up against that same right-wing Republican opposition that later torpedoed my healthcare program. Sorry, you say programme over here, don't you? When in Rome, ha ha ha."

And then Bill was elected to the White House. "I beg your pardon: we were elected to the White House. We were and are very much a team. True, Tottenham Hotspur was still young, and could only give so much time to running the State Department. I got the Pentagon, naturally, after my defeat of the Soviets in Afghanistan. So I was finally able to modernise our armed forces. Remember -- this was my field: I'd started Microsoft with Bill Gates. And what a sweet guy he is: whenever he has a problem, he still calls me. That's the kind of person I am."

How did you feel about the Monica Lewinsky affair?

"I felt guilty! It was my fault! I shouldn't have become the first woman to pilot the space-shuttle! I took too much time away from Bill and from West Ham United! They needed me! I wasn't there for them! I'll never forgive myself!"

Then you were elected to the Senate.

"Well, with the White House behind us, and little Queens Park Rangers grown up and at college, I had to do something. I'd climbed Everest, discovered the wreck of the Titanic, and started Google Inc. It was the golden chance to think about myself for a change: finally, to have a bit of me-time."

How did your family feel about that?

"Totally supportive. Bill found a dozen young women interns to help me out, from a little locked office he used to share with them and some bottles of mouthwash. And Charlton Athletic was immense. I'll never forget her."

If you are elected, who will your vice president be?

"My beloved Leyton Orient, of course. What are you doing?"

Gaaaaarrrgh. Getting sick.

Clinton Risks Credibility Gap Over `Fudged' Claims

This statement was made to the press.

"Clinton spokesman Jay Carson dismisses questions about her credibility. "She made a mistake recounting a trip she made as first lady to what was in fact a war zone,'' he said, referring to Bosnia. "Voters don't ask for perfection, they just want to know that you are working hard for them"

Perfection! I just want someone with integrity, she’s already proven that she will stoop at nothing to get elected. What is wrong with these democrats that are still supporting her?

Breaking news, bill clinton replies to hillary’s "Running Under Sniper fire" claims:

In a very short interview with bill (Slick Willy) Clinton when asked what he thought of his wifes claims:

"I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base."

Slick Willy’s reply:

"I Wish."

grog18b 03-28-2008 16:14

Slick Willy's second reply...

"For the record... Could you give me the definition of the word "run" please?"

"I did not have sexual relations with that woman... I had them with her dress."

And she was in the US sector totally protected by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.... oops, I'm sorry the Regular US Army guys wearing full battle rattle.. fondly referred as the TMNJ by the local kids....

Not like she was in the French sector where we really had to watch our backs.... and fronts when that damn French Armored Car attacked our 3 vehicle convoy.... I thought that we had been ambushed... and we were, just not by the enemy but rather by the collaborators....

Hey, if Hillary and Obama both drop out of the race, will the Dem's bring back John Kerry to save the party?? :D

HRC "SWIFTBOATED"

Guys,

The latest term being bantered around is that HRC is--like JF Kerry--being "swiftboated" over her recollections of her grand Balkans adventure. The dilemma here is that swiftboating is a term formerly used by Dems in an attempt to counter the anti-JFK crowd in the last national elections and, although their view was that it was a term for an attack on their man's character through innuendo and half-truths, it turned out to be true and sank JFK's campaign. HRC has now run into the same problem with the being under sniper fire statement...but a book isn't necessary here...it just takes a couple of minutes to watch this footage of her and Chelsea reacting to sniper fire.

After watching this video, I have to assume they were under fire from those damn Chinese sniper stealth rounds they were selling Sadam Hussein...until he realized they had absolutely no affect on Occidentals and he went back to trading with the French! :D

In my opinion she sure as hell is not being "swiftboated", she's having her ass handed to her for f***ing lying by pissed off veterans.

So the democrats are now going to use the term swiftboated everytime the members of the United States military are pissed off at them for lying?

As NDD already stated, what a lying bitch. But then again being a liar seems to run deep in the clinton family....

Top,

I disagree. She is being swiftboated in that her "word of honor"--just like JF Kerry's--is being sunk by the fallacy of her own wannabe "hero" stories. I'm only surprised that she hasn't yet arranged for someone in the DNC to give her some kind of award for her self-reported valorous act. I'm sure America's "first black President" was working on that one until she got caught with her hand in the political cookie jar of "mistatements."

Democrat Pelosi urges end to race
Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the US House of Representatives, has urged a swift end to the Democrats' contest to nominate a presidential candidate.

Mrs Pelosi, a senior Democrat, told ABC News it was important to get behind one candidate if the party expected to win the White House in November.

A number of supporters of Barack Obama have been calling for his rival Hillary Clinton to concede the race.

Mrs Pelosi did not say which candidate she preferred.

'Financial trouble'

Her comments come after those made by the Democratic Party's national chairman, Howard Dean, who said that he would like to see the race concluded by 1 July.

New York senator and former first lady Hillary Clinton has rejected calls by Obama supporters to abandon her campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination.

She is trailing the Illinois senator in the number of delegates needed to obtain the nomination.

DEMOCRATIC DELEGATE RACE
BARACK OBAMA: 1,631
States won: 25

HILLARY CLINTON: 1,501
States won: 16

Delegates needed to secure nomination: 2,024.

Source: Associated Press, as of 1 April

But the latest opinion polls suggest that she is leading Mr Obama by more than 10 points in the next major primary election in Pennsylvania on 22 April.

Mr Obama has distanced himself from calls for Mrs Clinton to concede the race, saying she should be able to compete as long as she is able and has supporters.

It is being reported, however, that her campaign is in financial trouble again with several million dollars of unpaid bills.

Mrs Clinton loaned her campaign $5m from her personal fortune ahead of the "Super Tuesday" primaries on 5 February.

Mr Obama currently leads by 1,631 delegates to the national party convention in August to Mrs Clinton's 1,501.

To secure the nomination, the winner must secure 2,024 delegates - which correspondents say neither candidate will be able to do on the basis of delegates won in the remaining primary elections alone.

If Mrs Clinton manages to win a larger share of the national popular vote, it is thought that she may secure the backing of the so-called super-delegates who could tip the balance.

Analysts say a bitter, drawn-out fight between the two contenders, going right up to the Democratic convention in August, could damage the eventual nominee's chances of beating their Republican rival, John McCain.

An issue that bugs me (to no end) and lumps most politicos into the same dung heap:

If I recount something that never happened...or GREATLY embelish a story to make myself look better.....I am a liar.

If I make promises that I have absolutely no intention of keeping or know are absolutely unrealistic....Am I a liar???

Mean what you say, say what you mean....

Simply let your 'Yes' be 'Yes' and your 'No' be 'No' anything beyond this comes from the evil one.

wow... I just noticed:

President and Poser both start with a "P"

consider the fact that "H" is the first letter in Hillary as well as "Holy shit this lady has got big balls.

...someone mentioned earlier in this thread, you could roll out a picture of her torturing puppies and people would still support her.
Its because by the time the pictures hit the internet the Klinton media machine would ave aleady explained how the puppies were actually previous torture victims of George Dubya, and Hillary was "unbeating" them to save them from the evil right wing conspiracy that is trying to punish cute little puppies. The photographer obviously "mis-shot" the photo causing it to appear as though she was beating the puppies and not unbeating them.

She would then go on Jay Leno and remind people that kittens are cute and that unbeating millions of oppressed puppies a day to save them from the right wing conspiracy nuts sometimes results in mis-shot photos.

Penn out as Clinton senior strategist By BETH FOUHY, Associated Press Writer
1 hour, 32 minutes ago

Hillary Rodham Clinton is turning to her communications chief and pollster to plan her presidential election strategy after giving the boot to a polarizing top aide because of his work on behalf of a trade agreement Clinton opposes.

Mark Penn, a lightning rod for controversy throughout Clinton's presidential campaign, left the campaign Sunday after it was disclosed he had met with representatives of the Colombian government to help promote the trade agreement.

Communications director Howard Wolfson and pollster Geoff Garin will direct the campaign's message and strategic efforts for the campaign going forward, said campaign manager Maggie Williams. She said Penn will continue "to provide polling and advice to the campaign."

Penn's departure comes as Clinton, considered the front-runner for the Democratic nomination last year, trails Barack Obama in delegates and the popular vote with a must-win primary in Pennsylvania April 22 and nine other contests remaining. Clinton almost certainly will end the primary season narrowly behind Obama in the popular vote and pledged delegates unless the nullified primaries in Florida and Michigan are counted — a scenario that seems remote. Her challenge will be to persuade some 800 superdelegates to back her despite the numbers.

Democratic strategist Chris Kofinis, who had been a spokesman in John Edwards' campaign, said Penn's departure was needed.

"The worst kept secret in the whole Democratic race was that Penn's campaign strategy was not working and that the Clinton campaign has unfortunately paid the price," Kofinis said. "The truth is this the best move the Clinton campaign could have made and something that I imagine most Clinton supporters wished had happened months ago."

The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that Penn, who serves as chief executive of public relations giant Burson-Marsteller, met with Colombian officials March 31 to help craft strategy to move the Colombian free trade agreement through Congress. Clinton opposes such a deal, and Penn later issued a statement apologizing for the meeting, calling it an "error in judgment."

But the apology evidently wasn't sufficient. Aides said both Hillary and Bill Clinton were angry upon hearing of the meeting and that Penn was quickly pushed to leave.

Penn was known to get into angry shouting matches with other members of Clinton's team, including longtime adviser Harold Ickes and media strategist Mandy Grunwald, who often disagreed with his strategic advice and resented his unchecked authority to design the candidate's message.

Penn pushed Clinton to adopt a meat-and-potatoes, issue-based campaign that stressed her "strength and experience" but managed to overlook voters' desire for fundamental political change, which rival Obama was able to capture.

According to Justice Department filings, Colombia agreed last year to pay Burson-Marsteller $300,000 to help "educate members of the U.S. Congress and other audiences" about the trade deal and secure continued U.S. funding for the $5 billion anti-narcotics program Plan Colombia.

The Colombian government announced Saturday it had fired Burson-Marsteller after Penn apologized for meeting with its representatives, saying his statement conveyed a "lack of respect" for the country.

Yep.

It's my contention and I believe the conventional wisdom that she is going to force feed her own nomination down the throats of the democratic party with pulling the "super delegate" card out of her sleeve.

What happens then ? Only two scenarios. One, the Obama supporters jump ship and vote a McCain ticket and he wins by a landslide. History will write that she was the one single factor that determined the democrats fate for yet another 4-8 years. She will only garner more "Clinton hate"

Two, she actually narrowly defeats the McCain ticket in Florida and Ohio, the independent vote goes to some schlep that enters the race between now and November, to win the election. The results are obvious. We will live in a tyranny government and it will look suspiciously like the day's of the Bill Clinton bafoonery.

Hold on to your seats sports fan.
