Banter about pistol grips aside, are we relinquishing another state from our union?
Jury nullification? Just grind them down with a long and expensive legal process; life ruining. It is a shame to see so many here that are ok with this, and if not, choose to act with cynicism. |
All else being said and whether one agrees with all the provisions of the NY Safe Act Law or not, it seems to me as if he (1) knowingly broke the law in a for profit endeavor and (2) knowingly sold a weapon to someone he thought was a felon and prohibited from possessing a weapon.
Whether it was his intention or not, the 'good ex-Marine' made himself the 'poster boy' for the State of NY to seek to uphold their recently enacted law, and will be an interesting case to follow to conclusion. Richard :munchin |
That law is obviously working. Look at all the scary dangerous veterans that are being taken off the streets! Every New Yorker should be proud...
I'll never spend another penny in New York as long as I live. I'm close to the border, and used to frequent Hoseheads Mall, and even bought the wife's car in NY. Not another penny. |
Situational Awareness
That "Good Marine" should have practiced better SA. Whether you agree with the NY Safe Act or not, we should not be doing anything to draw us into their focus.
Depending on what my duties for the day are, I may or may not have hollow point ammunition. Nuclear Security - YEP, as it is under Federal jurisdiction. PSD in NJ or NY that is NOT Nuke related - NOPE. Even if it is authorised, we have worked on the side of caution for NYC assignments. NYPD isn't as forgiving as other Agencies, so I do not carry a weapon with HP rounds into NYC. Even if you are right, the legal fees alone can ruin a person. Then you enter the parallel dimension of firearms violation(s) and how that affects continued and future employment. FlagDayNCO |

The Opinion
TS,
You are correct. Unfortunately, working up here in the middle of Socialist NYC and NJ, we've seen guys hammered by the bosses for voicing their opinion. One person was already suspended and under investigation, with the reason being he OWNS mulitple firearms. Pretty disgusting, as the bosses should have stepped in and set everyone straight. Instead, they have become just another pawn for the anti-gun crowd. The day-to-day perception up here is a lot different than AZ, courtesy of the media. PA has remained a solid gun-rights place to live, but the Philly and large metropolitan politicians are crafting bills to reduce our rights and protections. Wife and I have already discussed moving out of PA, if things became like NJ or NYC. It has generated some blow-back against the politicians, but they do not care. So far, we're holding our own, and then some. Besides, if we do not stand up for our rights, no one will. After living in Europe for a few years, I will never be in a position where I do not have the right to defend myself or protect my family. No tin foil hat, but plenty of lead in tin boxes. Which box are we on now?

It's time for decent people to get the hell out of New York, New Jersey etc. Your voting and activism will do no good there. Your hard work just supports the Beast. You may have to go there to work, but you don't have to live there. Find a new gig and new digs. You'll make half the money down South, but it takes about half the money to live. Nothing good has come out of New York in 150 years---that is, until you leave with your hard-working family and friends...
I normally don't post much...but this is worth saying something about....GTFO of Bloomyland.... Back to lurking... |
