My 2010 Kirkland Malbec was pretty okay with the jambalaya I concocted.

French wines?
I've just begun opening my 2007 and 2008 Cabernet Sauvignons, Ancient Vine Zinfandels, Pinot Noirs, and San Giovesses from the Napa, Alexander, and Russian River Valleys - all 91-94 points and OUTSTANDING! Chateau Montelena (Napa Valley) Hartford Family (Alexander Valley, Russian River alley) Hafner (Sausal Creek Alexander Valley) Gustavo Thrace (Napa Valley Carneros Region) Sausal (Sausal Creek Alexander Valley) La Sirena (Napa alley) Golden Eye (Anderson Valley) My wife likes the Chardonnays from Chateau Montelena, Hartford Family, Golden Eye, Hafner, and Taylor Family (Napa Valley Carneros Region). We just enjoyed a Hartford 2009 Lands Edge (they do a lot of single vineyard lots) Pinot Noir with grilled frenched lamb the other night and OMG - IWC gives it 92 points and I've just ordered a couple more bottles because it was so good. http://www.hartfordwines.com/pinotno...ASC&startrow=1 Our desire to spend the next several decades earnestly searching for that next great glass of wine is part of the reason we'll be moving back to our ranch in NorCal this year. Anyway, the point of all this is that for you wine lover's out there, it's going to be a GREAT wine sipping year this year. ;) Richard :munchin |

We were in Ireland a couple of years ago, Nancy was there to give a talk. I had sampled my first Guiness (in Ireland) that afternoon, at the speakers dinner we were regaled with pretty special wines, I dutifully sipped the wines placed in front of me, but wanted more Guiness...So I asked our host if he would mind if I switched to guiness, I comsumed 8-10 pints and thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. |
