Socialists (That means anybody who can't handle the Constitution the way it was written/intended. That takes care of the majority of Demo's and a good percentage of RINOs too). The UN in all of its permutations (leave the French alone, they're fun to kick around, especially since they're always inviting it). And the Chinese (God forbid they ever start flexing their muscle outside their own borders - they scare me). The Islamists don't really worry me - they're more of a danger to themselves, especially since they want to recreate the "glories" of the Caliphate with a resurected Islamic State (interesting fantasy - historically speaking it never really existed). What interests me about this thread is how most of us have looked internally for our threats. Any comments? YIS - Peregrino

The way I read that sir is that if we can get our house in order it does not matter what enemies we face, we will be victorious.

Although my remarks might have seemed off the cuff, that is exactly what I see. When you look at what elements of power a state has to protect its national interests they really break down into economic, political/diplomatic, psychological(Informational), and military. The country can only build its political/diplomatic clout from within by presenting and acting as a united country on national/international interests and not acting like a bunch of spoiled schoolkids on petty personal agendas. The same is true with the economic policies and programs to develop trade agreements to fuel the engines of industry and the service sectors to build jobs and produce revenue to allow this country to remain strong and pursue whatever courses are necessary to acheive what ever the national interests are. The psycholocial aspects are how other percieve us or how we want them to perceive us and that has a lot to do with the credibility we establish by the rest of oour actions. You know, sort of like the first time my daughter's boy friend showed up at the door and got the impression that I would reach down his throat and rip out his heart if he did anything stupid. The military aspect is the supporting aspect that gives the teeth to the other three and again that is internally controlled. So yes, while we have external threats, if we get our act together as a nation and develop the elements of national power available to us to protect and attain those items that are in our national interest any country or countries that threatened this nation is in for an ass whopping. Now there is a catch, but you knew that. The catch is that we have to have the right people in power that are smart enough to define those national interests and then have the guts to follow thru with the actions necessary to attain them.

I should have known better than to ask a rhetorical question! You get the party line every time. Now we know why Jack lives in Vermont. Fortunately it's a big soapbox, there's plenty of room for all. I agree wholeheartedly. Internally united with a common goal towards the future and there are no external threats that can stop us. To borrow a quote from the greatest American socialist of the 20th century - FDR - "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself". Whatever happened to the spirit that conquered a continent and put men on the moon! (Another rhetorical question.) YIS - Peregrino

This is a tough crowd here. You guys have to understand that I have these liberals surrounded from the inside and am your first line of defense against French speaking Canada. I mean look what I have to work with. A population that takes pride in calling themselves woodchucks and everyone else flat landers. I mean what can you do with folks that align their identity with a rodent that sleeps half the year, lives in a hole in the ground, subsists on food that others grow for him and gleefully seems to martyr themselves by running under car tires. To represent their issues to their government they send the only socialist in Congress (Bernie Sanders), one Senator that can't make up his mind what he believes in ( Jim Jeffords) and Patrick Leahy who looks not like a flat lander but a flat liner who thinks his destiny is to undermine the federal judiciary. And spotting folks to create my intell, commo, and security networks is no piece of cake. Hell everyone wears a parka up here 8 months out of the year and when they do get down to wearing items of clothing that should betray their sex and age it is sort of like trying to hunt for turkeys, you gotta pay attention to the presence and the length of the beard because everyone has a frigging pony tail. All is not lost, however, the area complex is maturing.

1. Any American who would put personal gain over the benefit of their nation, or who runs for office for personal glory rather than to represent the interests of the Constitution and the People.

2. Any American who fails to believe or support every Amendment and clause of the Constitution as an instrument of the People, and the written intent of the authors of that document. Add also, anyone exercising their right to vote without understanding the stated/demonstrated positions of the candidates, or the electoral system they are participating in.

3. Anyone who would threaten the security of the United States, or our citizens.

I feel kind of weird "using a wand" :p but that is RL's requirement so:

1. deliberate misinformation/anti-US propaganda that is currently being taught, accepted, and believed in most parts of the world (including most of our "allies")
2. terrorists and anyone who supports them in any form, for ANY reason
3. any political leader or government entity that makes decisions for the personal benefit of the leaders themselves and not for honest intention of being beneficial for the people that it represents (or controls).

Of course, if you accomplished #1 then #2 would be a MUCH smaller and easier task to eliminate.
