I take it the ARNGSF recruiting team at Ft Bragg will handle recruiting across the states, as opposed to each state recruiting independently?

I'm particularly interested as I spoke to the Officer recruiter from the 20th SFG out of Alabama recently.

This leads me to a question... is it considered bad form to speak to another recruiter after I've already made contact with one from the Alabama National Guard? The Chief I spoke to answered all my questions and was very squared away and eager to help, not that I expected anything different from a QP recruiter. In any case my problem is I know that changing states later on can be difficult, and I'm about 3 hours closer to 3/20SFG(A) out of Florida or North Carolina, I contacted the 20 SFG Alabama recruiter not thinking about the way the Guard does business, with each state being independent.

If it's not a foul to do so I'll let the chief know up front, I want to make sure he doesn't think I'm trying to do anything below board, and the answers he gave me were very helpful I just want to make sure I’m making the best decision possible with as much info as possible.

It sounds like to me that the ARNGSF recruiting team is designed to recruit AD SF soldiers who are ETSing. Each NG SF Company will have thier own designated recruiter and guys who help out.

As for speaking to multiple recruiters as long as you don't make a committment or sign a contract it's allright to talk to other recruiters. Most NG SF recuiters know that it takes quite a few numbers to get one guy qualified so the recruiters don't dwell on the fact that you're talking to another recruiter.

1. Incorrect. They are to help with recruiting across the board.

2. That is what has been recommended, but dedicated recruiters at each separate unit has not been funded at this time.

The ARNGSF national recruiting team is not a formal organization. It is, at the present time, a group of hard-working "action officers/NCOs" assembled on the directive of the DCG,USASFC to work on "recruiting" issues within the ARNG SF. This is in recognition of the fact that we are not being as efficient with our recruiting efforts as we should be and to help us do better at our recruiting and retention efforts. Funding for this effort has not been programmed and is being taken out of hide at the present.

They are not intended to replace the recruiters within each state or to take sole responsibility for recruiting of REP63s or those coming off active duty. They are helping to work the bigger, longer term issues and to help with those issues that are systemic and/or that cross state borders. They are, at the present time still largely in the stage where they are defining what the issues are and recommending go-forward COAs. However, if there are issues that aren't getting addressed by recruiters within the individual states they can assist.
