Mr. Harsey (and all other Duck fans on forum):

As a disappointed USF student who just returned from the over 3000 mile road trip to El Paso and back, I must congratulate you on Oregon’s Sun Bowl victory. I genuinely thought that my Bulls were going to win prior to the game. However, the Ducks were just so much bigger and stronger, especially on both lines. It was a genuine butt-kicking.

Having seen USF play and beat both West Virginia and Auburn live and in-person, I have to tell you this: Hadn’t Dixon gone down mid-season, I really think that Oregon could have been playing in the National Championship game. They are that good.

I was very impressed.

Uggh...WV played a good game.

Holly <---sniff, sniff.

It was a joyous occasion at the homestead to watch the "prediction map" on sportscenter that was all red (for OU) except WV and then see WVU roll over OU. I'm not going to rub it in... Maybe OU should call Georgia and they can compare notes...

Unfortunately, VT is trying to lose to KU.

JMI,
Thanks for taking my ribbing, after the last few Duck games I had nothing to dispute your Oregon-South Florida pick until it was about half over.

Note that I'm not brave enough to post picks.

Sir, I give them a TON of credit. Without Dixon I thought they were too shorthanded. I also figured USF would have played tougher. The Ducks played a heck of a game, and I may even attend a game or two next season since I am in Oregon 1 week a month.

Good point, Georgia did win their bowl game (and last year's), so that makes them 2 out of 3, as opposed to 0 for 4...

And WV played a great game! :)

Next season, as the saying goes, is an all New Season!
And the one thing about Sooner fans is, no matter if its 0 and 4, or 4 and 0...We always support Our Sooners!:lifter

Georgia is a great team,I did not get to watch them until they played Tennessee for the SEC East championship. That running back is Heismann material. It would not surprise me to see Georgia in the Championship game next year. I am so glad Miss. State doesn't have to play them during the year.Ha

SEC brings the HEAT! It was beautiful to watch an over rated media bandwagon team take a real ass whipping... and take it SEC style. We just need more than LSU in the SEC West to represesent in their bowl games (ie: Arkansas).
The same thing with HAWAII. They were so psyched coming to the Sugar Bowl because they were undefeated! They were undefeated because of their schedule strength(as in most other over rated teams). They did their polynesian dances coming in and did the Dawg walk going home... Georgia completely owned them. GEORGIA is going to be BIG next year. KNOWSHAWN (sp) is a stud! The even better news is that they are all so young... it will be a great run!

I agree... It would have been a GREAT game if LSU played UGA. The only draw back is that the country wouldnt have been able to see the SEC flex its muscles :p

Congrats to LSU. I wish USC could have played Georgia or LSU instead of the #2 team from a very weak conference. :D

LSU #1

I really think that more than anything else, LSU out coached Ohio State. The variations of their spread formations really confused Ohio State’s secondary, which because of LSU's spread formations had to play Nickel and Dime coverage’s most of the time, which entails using your third and forth cornerback. Therein lays the secret of the spread. Spread them out and work your passing game in the space provided by the defense.

I did not get to see Georgia or USC play that much this year, but unless they have one hell of a defensive line that can consistently put pressure on the QB or very quick LB that can blitz, they would not be able to stop LSU offense.

That’s why a playoff system is needed. As I understand it the only Conference that is objecting a playoff system is the PAC 10. Does anyone know why?

Just my 02.

Illinoise sucks, that's all I'm going to say.

Go bucks ;)

USC gets to play the Buckeyes in 08 and 09... so you'll see the number 1 team of the weak conference beating the piss out of USC next season.

What was the score of the Ohio State-Illinois game?

USC has that. But they clearly didn't earn a title shot this year even though they were capable. It should have been Georgia in the Rose Bowl. The Rose Bowl picked Ill. because they're trying to maintain the classic PAC10/Big10 matchup. I hope they get over the 'tradition' of the thing so we get better matchups, but I won't hold my breath.
