Hello all, I guess I should finally post an introduction. I am a former 19D that had aspirations of becoming SF, unfortunately I ended up with knee injuries that led to my medical discharge from the Army after 6 years of service. Never could shake the bug, which is what led me to studying so much military history over the years and learning as much about weapons as I have (still learning constantly, as the industry never sleeps). Tried re-enlisting several times, but a Cat-4 RE code has kept me on the sidelines (probably a good thing, with my first child on the way).
I had the pleasure of meeting Ambush Master at Shot Show 2008, who was kind enough to invite me to check out the forum. I am very glad to be here, and it is a honor to meet you all! I guess I have always had a bit of "Hero Worship" for the Green Berets, but I figure a guy could do a lot worse for picking role models!
On a side note, one of my friends joined the Army as an 18X earlier this year, and is at the Q now, so if anyone there runs into a rather large young man names Lxxxxx, drop "Thug" and tell him Dees said to push, LOL!

Hello everyone,

My name is Ben. I reside in the DC., MD area. I am currently employed as a Federal LEO. I enrolled to this site in hopes of finding information on the process to becoming a member of a SF NG unit. Thus far, this site has been very beneficial.

Much thanks to the administrators and Professional Soldiers who run this site. There are not sites on the web that are as comprehensive and informative as this.

Hey everybody! I've been looking around on the forums for about a week and figured I'd say hello. I'm getting ready to sign for the 18x program through NG. I've learned a lot on these boards so far, and every bit of it has excited me about going SF. Don't know how much I'll be posting though, anything I might want to ask seems to already be answered =)

Former 11B with 82nd, current Medic, friend of mine told me about the site some time ago and have been lurking and reading. There is a great deal of awesome information in this site and have been using it both personally and professionally, it is a wellspring of information. I am an E6 in the reserves, currently prepping for a trip to A-stan. Really enjoy the gear and medical knowledge posted.

11A w/ 1-2 IN, 172nd IN BDE, have slew of experience thanks to a year as of October in TRADOC (kidding), looking to pick up knowledge and advice where and when I can as the BN is heading to Mess O' Potamia in a few weeks...

Hi Sarge. Sam Dixson (Bear043) here. Thanks for allowing me into your house. I have not introduced myself until now, as I needed to have a look, determine the environment, and dfine the average age of the members. I was in SF from 74 thru 88. Then we had C rations (expired 6/48). I did a little fighting, jumped from a few airplanes, lost alot of good friends, received a few medals.

I've been lurking long enough without introduction so,

I'm an active AF cop with a few years experince, currently downrange, working for the Army. I worked civilian LE/Fire Rescue before AF life, did some cool stuff there, and then decided I wanted to go downrange and do a bit more.

Found this board, read through some threads and enjoyed the intelligent conversations of the various topics. The thing that struck me most was the lack of whining as I've seen on my own careerfield forums.

Hopefully I can add if/when topics come up I can speak too.

Time to introduce myself. Registered a few months back and never posted. I prefer to keep a low IP profile; training I guess.

My experience is short and simple. Retired LEO. 1990 went “back door” into Panama 1 Jan via Costa Rica; 2 weeks post Operation Just Cause. Intelligence asset for the DOD and DOJ prior to Just Cause and time spent in Central America. Spent the next 3 years in Panama; living and loving the jungle. Anybody remember how much of a living hell Colon was after Just Cause.

Was glad to get back to the world after CA. But these past ten years or so, I do not like the politics and the petty wrangling. Heck, are we the only ones who understand what “war on terror” means? Love my country and would sacrifice all, (again), for it. As for the “guys” who run it; well that’s a different story.

How yall doing? I go by Pick. I am currently an SUT instructor at Phase II of the SFQC. I was just checking out what they got here. Some awesome info from the pros. If anybody got any SUT questions let them rip. Keep them professional though. I been at SUT a year and at first I hated it, but it grows on you and it is making me one heck of a trainer and facilitator for trainning. It is one of the first looks at a SF NCO for a student and I take it serious as hell!
If we can't train our own then how can we train others?

To the SF and Moderators of this site:

I've lurked here for several years, and as I've had a registered name for much of that time, I'm overdue for an introduction. I'm a student in between community college and a four year school. I will be entering James Madison University in the spring of 2009 with a major in History and minor in Political Science. I plan on enlisting when I graduate.

I must give my sincerest thanks to the moderators and SF on this site for keeping the door open to guests. This is easily one of the best sites I have come across. It has become my go to site for relevant opinion and information.

I doubt I will post too much, but I will definitely be reading!
