National Guard to active SF
Gentlemen,
I am in the National Guard. As soon as I get back from my current deployment I plan on meeting with a recruiter and doing whatever it takes to get an 18X contract. I am here to get training ideas, information about the training pipeline(not G2 it though) , and learn as much as I can about the Special Forces lifestyle. I want to extend a thank you too all the Quite Professionals here who let hopefuls like myself enjoy the wealth of knowledge here. Can't wait to get started! -Sam |
What, again?
Did you think it was so good, you had to do it twice? This is a no double-tap zone, please stop. TR |

Introduction
Good Afternoon all,
I found this board on a google search for "Rucking" looking for up to date boot advise. After a couple of weeks and hours of reading, seems the Jungles are still the king of the hill. I did time in the Corps from 96 to 2000 (1/2 and Unitas) Med Float, Unitas, and UDT to Oki during the 1st 4. And I got recalled in 2001 where I served with MARFORLANT until they could no longer tollorate my "Infantryness" and sent me over to 2nd FAST with a bunch of other guys. I am currently serving Uncle Sam once again in the Federal Law Enforcement arena. I look forward to learning a thing or two and hopefully helping someone out from time to time. 8504 |
Introduction
Professional Soldiers,
I am a Marine Infantry Platoon Commander (former SSgt), currently on my second trip to Iraq. I came across this forum looking for information about service tranfers and the SF in general. I have started planning and preparing to make the transition to a NGSF unit. I have not decided which one yet, but I have contacted the 19th in Utah. As of right now, my plan is to EAS or resign the commission and enlist. I am interested in the 18C field, and then cross training for 18D. I have already soaked up alot of great information on this forum, and if anyone has any information, idea's or comments that may help me out, please fire away. I'm all ears. Or eyes in this case. ---GB |
I am Cheri. C-M-R at Socnet. Married to an active duty 7th Grp guy.
Although I joined back in '04 and posted to the 7th Grp Roll Call, I've never introduced myself in this thread. S7thGR |
Welcome aboard, guys!

Good Evening Gentlemen
I stumbled across this site by accident when I got a little home sick the other night.
I was on the B Team for 8 years in B2/7 and little over 3 years with C/3/7. Really like the site, brought back a lot of good memories. Thanx |
I'm not at all affiliated with any SF Group, although I'm looking into getting transferred into support with the 20th Group in AL or FL.
I'm a former Marine and current GA National Guard soldier. I'm also a nursing student, which is what actually led me here. I doubt I'll be posting much, if at all, but I wanted to at least register and throw out an introduction before I started reading in the 18D forums. |
Greetings ALL
Greetings,
Thank you all for having this forum available to all those interested in the SF community. I am a federal LEO w/ the Dept of State and have come across some extraordinary individuals (SF active, ANG, and former) working overseas and domestic. I have no prior military experience and am contemplating enlisting through REP 63 for the ANG. My clock is running, but I came on young w/ my current job. This site has been an invaluable resource. Thank you all for your service and commitment for the right reasons. Hopefully I can post more if I make a serious commitment, and pursue being part of the community one day. Regards. |
Welcome aboard all.
KATO, please fill out as much of your profile as you are comfortable with. TR |

Greetings,
I joined three months ago and have enjoyed reading all of the threads available on this site. I am very content to remain a gray man but figured I would post an introduction so if ever I thought I had some valuable input on a topic I could post sans an FTFSI from an administrator. I took interest in the site after reading Get Selected by Warrior-Mentor. I am steadily chopping through the recommended reading list in the back of that book. I have yet to pick up any Anthony Robbins but The Ugly American, Slow Burn, Man’s Search for Meaning, and The Razors Edge were all very good reads. Pretty much any of the books that appear in your Book Reviews and Recommendations thread get a trip to the library out of me. As my profile reads I am prior service Army as a 33W (Electronics Warfare and Intercept Systems Repair). I am currently studying electrical engineering at Oklahoma State University. I must confess, the prospect of becoming an 18E becomes more appealing the more research I commit to the idea. That being said, thank you all for your service and for maintaining such a professionally driven site. |
Greetings to all. Thought I had posted here before, however x SF med set me straight today when I posted a thread. Lived in Miami, Fl. since leaving Armed Forces in 1989 as an E-6 after 10 yrs. Regret not doing the full two dimes, however an injury kept me from the field and I am not a pencil pusher type.
Great memmories at Ft. Sherman and Ft. Davis, (right of the line), Panama. Except for the Black Palms and sand flies. Found this outstanding site from my son-in-law who is active reserve in the 20th SFG. Presently work as a Telecommunications Engineer at Qwest Communications. -Sine Pari |
