Welcome Gents
Nice to have you aboard! MM |
Hi to all
My name is Con George-Kotzabasis and I'm a former board director of SBS TV Australia. Being a tyro, in this field, among professionals the reason that I've joined this forum is to learn from them while at the same time attempting to make a contribution. Already I've made some mistakes by jumping the gun, i.e., not introducing myself before posting to a thread, which I did, and I apologise for infringing this rule. Now that I introduced myself I'm ready to jump with both feet into the fray of fire, and while getting burned hoping to learn from it. |
New to the boards.
Hello everyone,
My name is Mike and I'm shipping out to Benning in a few weeks. My contract is for 18X. I'm very excited and looking forward to it immensley. I will hopefully learn a few things about Special Forces before I ship out. Until next time, -Mike |
Thank you for allowing me to poke around
Hello Everybody-
Thank you for allowing me to peek around your house. I frequently stalk these and similar site. I have been a huge supporter of those who serve for as long as I have been alive. In fact, it was all I wanted to do until life decided it had different plans. But, to make a long story short, I am in formation with the Capuchin Franciscan Order and I wish all of you well. Believe me, I have many friends who serve and I will keep all of you also in my prayers and hopes. Good luck. God Bless -Matthew:D |
Howdy Gents,
Just a civilian here reading anything I can about everything I'm allowed to learn about. I'm mostly hear to read and maybe ask the occasional firearm question - but I'll ensure to wear out that search button before I stick my neck out too far. I know enough about the military to know that I don't know anything about the military - so it's pretty much mouth shut, ears open from here on out. :D Thanks for the opportunity to be a part of these forums, and even more so - thank you to the BTDT's for your service. -Matt |

Introduction
Hi all - my name is Mike. First, thank you for allowing me to join your forum. I am prior service 11B1P E-5 looking to come back in on an 18X. I just talked to the recruiter today - he says prior service army can't get the 18X - but since my ASVAB scores are so high, I can reclass to anything else... Seems from what I've found so far on this forum, he may not be accurate. Looking for any information that can assist me in getting to SF!
Cheers! ~mjb |

Introduction
I'm SGT M., about March of this year I returned from yet another great deployment with the 1/1 AD, and there SF recruiters visiting our post. I was, at the time completely uninterested in SF and had just had a child, but now having spent about 2 and a half months looking into everything imaginable, I have decided to go SFAS. I completed almost everything in about 2 days (physical and all). Now all I have left is to get back with my recruiter in Germany to get a class date.
I have to say that this forum has really helped in me making the decision to go. After lurking around here for about a month as a guest I figured to about time to become a member. So hello all. And thank you. |
SGT M. Welcome...good intro and profile....
This part worries me though:rolleyes: Quote:

Hello.....I'm a former member of the Air Force, not special operations, I was just a medic. One of my friends who is a member here invited me to join so that I could contribute to the medical section of this site.

Thanks guys
Browsed the site a bit, was in the USMC Infantry (0341)
the Legion Etrangere Infantry/Abn. Have some areas of SF operations during the Vietnam War I was interested in learning about-was told this was the place to sit in and absorb data. Thanks D |

Introduction
Hello, my name is Chad, I would like first-off to say thank you for the opportunity the Quiet Professionals have provided by this site and several forums. I have already learned a lot, and hope to to learn more in the future. I am a 26 year old USAR Soldier PMOS 38B who has always been interested in the SF. I come from a military family and have the utmost respect for "Quiet Professionals". Recently I have been going through a few career change options and was hoping to find some insight and/or guidance from individuals with real-time experience. Recruiters can most often than not, have their own agenda. I digress...I look forward to absorbing and retaining as much pertinent information as possible and will be doing plenty of reading. Thank you for your time.
Respectfully C.H. |
Hello, I my name is Michael or Mike hence my forum name.;) I am very interested in the SF way of life and I have recieved the answers to most of my basic questions and then some about the Quiet Professionals. I would like to thank each and everyone of you first off for your time and service to this great nation of ours. 2nd thank you for taking the time to provide us noobs with information that we would probably never have been able to find out without actually joining the SF ourselves;)

Gentlemen
I am a new member to this site and I hope I will do this justice.
The reason I have sought out this site is for information and some kind of insight in what it takes to be SF. My brother died February 9, 2005. His name is CPT Gilbert Munoz. He is commander of a HALO team from 7th. Group. I would appreciate any info you may have or "stories" about him that any of you might have. I miss him terribly and I just need to know as much of his world as I possibly can. I know that this is a site for past, present and maybe future SF men. Understanding that I do not fall into any of these categories, I am still asking for your help. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you! I wish you all well! Thanks for allowing me to express myself and ask that favor of you. Veronica 18ALPHASIS |
Hello to all
My name is Sabine, I'm not a soldier but I used to be married to one. I live now in Germany again, this little town that probably none of you have ever heard of, Osterholz Scharmbeck, northern Germany.
I have 2 kids, a boy and a girl, and my boy is really interested in the Army and Special Forces. We got this side from a friend and if you dont mind we would like to read along and maybe ask a question every once in a while. Thanks |
I'll be up front and say that I'm not SF, and I'm past the point where I could realistically go that route.
As my screen name suggests, I'm a Field Artilleryman. I spent the majority of my career preparing to fight the Krasnovians in the “high intensity conflict” scenario preferred by the big Army for so many years. Then Iraq came along, and that experience served as a kind of epiphany for me. Now I consider myself a student of Counterinsurgency. I hope to learn from the experience here. |
Time for an intro . . .
Greetings, All:
I joined this site quite a while ago, a few months before I actually went to SFAS; I got picked up, and between then (Jun 06) and now, I've been extremely busy with the Q Course, as you might imagine. I've recently completed Max Gain and the new Culminex, and we're headed out to the 18E compound for refit, end of course critiques, peers and the like. I thoroughly enjoyed the 18E training, and learned a ton of stuff in the process. We'll be heading out to Language Block III here in two weeks, and I'm confident I'm going to have more time to post here. I'll also be posting a bit more at my second home (airborneranger.com), where my nick is "longrange". I have to give a shout out to Surgical Crike - drop me a PM dude, and we'll hoist a few brews. We were in Lilac Miller's Lang BL I (French) together. Some basic info on me, just so you know: BESD: 28 DEC 86 (yup, got my 20 year letter in Feb, still kickin' it) Assigned : A Co, 2/20, ILARNG (Chicago SF) Airborne / Air Assault / Drill Sergeant / CIB w Star - Desert Shield/Storm, OIF II / EIB / JOTC / Sniper / LRSLC PH I / and then some |

Another Cherry
Gentlemen,
I've been hanging out for a while and finally decided to take the leap and post an intro. I was in 1/75 A co and HHC Oct 00- Oct 03. I couldn't find enough Rangers to hang out with :D so I had to come back in w/ 5/19. I just got selected class 06-07 and am looking to go back for the Q for the Sep class. Thanks for all the advice, now back to reading. |
Greetings,
I have been a lurker on these forums as a guest for quite a while now and decided to finally register with my upcoming entrance into the United States Army. A little about me. My name is Ryan, I am 19 years old, and on July 12th, 2007 I will leave my hometown of Wixom, MI for Fort Leonard Wood to begin basic combat training. I have signed up as a 68W with an option 40. Eventually I may attempt to pursue a career change to that of an 18D but that is not my main focus at this point in time. I just wanted to say thanks to all the quiet professionals who run this site and enlighten us all in your free time. This forum is a wealth of knowledge and should not be taken for granted. I will continue to make the most out of every opportunity presented before me and hope that one day I may find myself in the company of men as professional and motivated as those I have seen on this board. Thank you again for your time. De Oppresso Liber. |
Thanks for the welcome
I'm surprised that some of you know OHZ. It was a very small post there.
Is has gotten a lot quieter here with all the soldiers being gone. L.d.Clay is a german Kaserne now. I work in Bremerhaven and the post there is a big Container terminal now. I'm sure the ones that know OHZ also know Bremerhaven. But there are some good memories there. ;) |
