I said Romney is a smart investor, not that he would be a good POTUS.

I missed his interview on FoxNews... and I was a big supporter before he announced... but after watching his annoucement on his website, I'm excited and pumped for Sen. Thompson. I think he's just what we need right now. At the same time, however, I'm fearful of the other candidates, especially the Dems.....

I feel we need Sen. Thompson right now and I'm going to do everything I can to spread his word for this election.

i'm pumped!! :lifter

Fred Thompson also has a narrow stance:D

I am excited for Thompson; I wasnt convinced by most of the republican's making a run for the presidency but with Thompson, maybe there is hope now....maybe!

I want to hear Fred or any of the GOP candidates come out and say something about Chuck Schumer's speech in the Senate Wednesday.

If anyone hasn't heard his speech you can listen to it here:

I'm going to tell the SEC and STOCKWATCH, unless you start sharing your inside information. :p

I quit reading that rag a while ago. And yes, I'm familiar with Bain Capital. I believe they used to be Trust Company of the West ? Henry Kissinger was on their board of directors.

Anyway, are you still stuck on Guiliani ?

Of course I wouldn't want to be seen on the same stage or associated in any way with the other Rep runners.

After joking that it was harder to get on The Tonight Show instead of a Presidential debate in this early stage of the campaign...Fred's response to this exact question was along the lines of the debates being more of a chance for media to get sound bytes of candidates making fun of each other when asked about issues affecting Americans. These debates really do little to let the people of the United States know what direction their future leader is willing to point the nation.
Further, he said he would welcome the opportunity to sit down with any other candidate, one on one, and take a couple of hours to discuss (and debate) views on a single issue. More than a sound byte, more than a 30 second blip.
I thought it was a smart answer.

It is much better to be on The Tonight Show rather than participate in a debate. In the debate, he's one of a bunch of candidates. On The Tonight Show, he gets more exposure and looks like he is above the fray and ahead of the pack.

It is and Huckabee has already offered to take him up on it.

I would welcome the opportunity to see that.

From experience I dont know if I'd call him brilliant. He is conservative and patient with his investments. Two traits most stock investors lack. George Soro's is also somtimes referred to as brilliant but he's an absolute moron, politically speaking. He's throwing money at Hillary, the capitalist hater, and tax spender to beat all !!
