Wayne Rogers, who PLAYED Trapper John on the TV series M*A*S*H just passed away.

Always liked his character when the show was 'fun' to watch.

'MASH' Star Wayne Rogers Dies at 82

Actor Wayne Rogers died on Thursday surrounded by family after suffering complications from pneumonia, his rep exclusively tells ET. He was 82 years old.

Rogers, who hailed from Alabama, is best known for playing the role of Captain "Trapper" John McIntyre in the classic television series M*A*S*H from 1972-1975. He also had recurring roles in City of Angels, House Calls, and Murder, She Wrote.

Aside from his work in television, Rogers was also a regular panel member on the Fox News Channel stock investment television program Cashin' In, thanks to a hugely successful career as an investor, real estate developer, and money manager. He was also the head of Wayne Rogers & Co., a stock trading investment corporation.

Prior to becoming an actor, Rogers served in the United Stated Navy. He also had a history degree from Princeton University.

Rogers received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2005.

The actor is survived by his wife, Amy, and his children Bill and Laura from his first marriage to actress Mitzi McWhorter. He is also survived by his four grandchildren: Alexander, Daniel, William and Anais.

Holy smokes you gotta be more subtle with the title of the thread we have a poster here by that handle.

Anyway that's too bad I enjoyed his characters. RIP

Sounds like he had a life well led. It's all we can ask for.

I didn't like his character in M*A*S*H at all, but I liked Wayne Rogers as a person and learned from his investment advice on FOX.

I did like his replacement character on M*A*S*H, B.J. Honeycutt, but hate the actor that portrayed him who I will not name here. Perhaps this is an example of "playing against type".
