The Monitor, 13 Mar 2010
McALLEN, TX — Two suspects were charged Thursday with the recent burglary of Green Beret, police said. A juvenile has also been taken into custody in connection with the break-in.
Located at 2213 N. 10th St., the store sells paintball supplies and army surplus goods, among other items.
Ricardo Rodriguez, 17, of Mission, and Joaquin Castañeda Jr., 18, of McAllen, were both charged with burglary of a building, a state jail felony punishable by up to two years in a state jail and a fine of up to $10,000. Each was being held in lieu of a $15,000 bond.
Rodriguez, Castañeda and the juvenile allegedly broke into the store through the back door about 9:45 a.m. March 6, said Sgt. Joel Morales, a McAllen police spokesman. A surveillance camera captured the suspects’ images, and the investigation led to the recovery of some stolen merchandise. Police continue to investigate.
