Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez 23 and Enrico Garza 26, probably believed they would easily overpower a home alone 11 year old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two story home.
It seems the two crooks never learned two things, they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay shooting champion since she was nine. Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father's room and grabbed his 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun.
Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buck shot from the 11 year olds knee crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals. When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive.
It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45 caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. The victim, 50 year old David Burien, was not so lucky as he died from stab wounds to the chest.

This is why we teach our daughters to shoot. My fifteen year old daughter always gets a laugh at the range from the "old guys". She takes a Glock 17 and puts 6 to the head, 6 to the heart, and 2 to the balls. All in 1 1/2 inch groups. I pity anyone who ever tries to break into my house.

Raphael Resendez-Ramirez is the infamous "Railroad Killer" illegal alien / serial murderer. He eventually was captured.
Enrique Garza is a musician from Snyder, Texas whose 3 sons formed the band "Los Lonely Boys".
Patricia Harrington is an adult woman who writes children’s mystery books.
I can find no reference to David Burien.
The story has no author or news source listed. There is no date, time or address of where the incident took place. I would wager that this is an invented account. There's absolutely nothing on the web (aside from this verbatim account itself) to indicate this ever actually happened, or that anyone named Patricia Harrington ever was a champion clay-shooter anywhere. No news station, web site or paper has published this story.
Please prove me wrong by providing some verifiable facts or citations!"
This is a qoute from another member of that site. I also searched and found the same thing.

Well I, for one, would like to see MORE stories like this.
Especially true ones.
The American Rifleman's "Armed Citizen" is usually pretty entertaining with dumb crook stories.

Take away the curiosity of the Gun. My son and Daughter both ran thru the SOT stress test on my Range at the age of eight and nine. M4 and M9, all live fire, barricades, exact standards as the school house. They passed to, took a few attempts. Today when they see a Gun lying on a table. They look at it with no more interest then a set of Screw Drivers lying around. Two week sniper School is next for the boy. Girl turned thirteen so Guns are messy and for Boys. I lost 50% of my assault team to a Birthday.

Now that's funny.
My father always had rifles in the house, and a ton of ammo. My brother, sister and I were told not to touch it. We never did until our father took us out to shoot.
I think if all kids were taught about firearms at an early age, like your children, there'd be no worries about kids playing with them and shooting their friends in error.

I'm of the belief this is pure bullshit, it smells of urban legend.
Not one big league network picked it up. Even if they hate guns they would have run this story, (profit motive). Foxnews would have run it 24/7 for a week and the girl would be sitting next to O'Reilly for an interview.
Fun reading but pure BS.
