Read about that. The hotel equiv of a no-knock on the wrong room. Imagine if he'd been armed & thought his room was being "home invaded"...

Whoever decided that was a good idea to run that exercise live in a working hotel should perhaps be promoted to the Field Office in Shemya.

We LOVE working with the feds because its fun and it strokes our ego and because they teach us TONS of things about conducting law enforcement operations that we dont know
...and we teach them how to army
...we teach them mother fuckers how to army HARD
...be all that you can be bitches !!!

Besides, FUCK that pilot - we need to train - and if he'd have given us the information we needed - it wouldn't have taken us 45 minutes to figure out that he was the wrong guy - what a loser - we should have shot his fucking dog to teach him a lesson

Thats what he gets for working for such a shitty airline and staying at a posh hotel - if he had been flying for Jet Blue, they'd have put him up in a Motel-6 and this wouldn't have happened

In another article it was stated that they put him in the shower!!!

I can just see how impressed the organizers must have been with the pilot's play acting skills of withholding information, refusing to cooperate, and genuinely being resisting too complying to their demands.

5 minutes into the drill, the leader call C&C and states "This guy is Good!!!!"

They should have hooked his ass up to a car battery like Mr Joshua did to Detective Riggs...
...then dangled him over the balcony.
...then made him eat a bowl of chili made out of his parents like Eric Cartman did to Scott Tenorman - because FUCK Scott Tenorman.

That's what those airlines get for doing away with all the decent snacks on those long flights.

The bigger question to me is: Exactly what scenario are they training for that requires active duty Army personnel operating in CONUS? I'm guessing from the title of this thread that you are wondering the same thing, MR2?

Realistic Urban Training (RUTs). Very commonplace within a particular Tier.

I understand the need to coordinate and consolidate C&C, comms, and unit tactics between disparate units from different agencies. But doing so on a regular basis, confirms that leadership presumes the necessity of domestic active duty military operations!

I'd read in one of the articles that it was ostensibly practice for the possibility of such opns OCONUS (right). Getting the wrong room - guaranteed not to retain the low-profile in a host nation they might be hoping for.

Should those personnel now be carrying F-U money in $$ or Yuan?

I think it’s more the other direction. If you want to “Arrest” Osama, you have to have a badge. If you don’t arrest him, he can’t be “tried” in court.

As for this particular SNAFU, shit happens in training. Mistakes made in the conduct of these things (while extremely exposing to TTPs that are best left alone) are precisely how you learn to NOT foul it up for real. I’m sure the AAR for this was FUGLY to say the least, and likely someone's rucksack was in the hallway over it.

As to the conspiracy minded folks out there. If you think for a second there are remotely enough folks in the entire us government that have the capacity to wage a war of aggression against the normal, everyday, coffee drinking American Citizen then you ain’t too good at math.

If you take the ENTIRE US MILITARY (yeah, ALL OF THEM) you get ~1.3 million folks. There are 393 MILLION Privately Owned Firearms in the US. Now, pretend for a minute the local goon-squad of super-ninja FBI JSOC Pipe-Hitters start systematically going door to door…… how long till the L-Shaped Ambushes and HBIED attacks start to reduce their numbers (somewhere in the 1,500 -2,000 range) to a point that they are completely a non-thing?

That is assuming that somehow the BEST and BRIGHTEST Red-Blooded Freedom Fighters in those organizations even obey the BS that is being put to them?

Yeah, more “look at me” headlines that are not worth loosing sleep over….

(Well, unless you F’d up that Target Packet and transposed 321 and 312)
