Retired 4-star general jailed in Fayetteville over Chinese takeout

A retired four-star general was out on bond Tuesday after being taken to the Fayette County jail over the weekend for allegedly ordering Chinese food without paying for it and then assaulting a delivery driver.
“It was the worst thing that happened to me in all of my life,” William J. Livsey told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, recalling the “10 cops here for one 84-year-old man” at his Fayetteville home Saturday evening.
In an emailed statement to the AJC, Fayetteville police Chief Scott Pitts said that after his order from the Royal Chef restaurant arrived at his home, Livsey tried to pay the driver with a debit card that was declined.
When Livsey offered to pay with a check instead, the driver told him checks were not accepted by the restaurant and he would have to take the food back, the police chief said.
That is when Livsey allegedly grabbed the driver’s throat and facial hair, pushed him and pinned him against a refrigerator in his kitchen. During the assault, police said, two people in the home took the food, placed it on a counter and began eating it.
The driver was ultimately released and reported the incident to police, the chief said.

Sometimes you just can't put up with the BS anymore and you have to slam some neckbeard into the fridge by their whiskers.
Coupla weeks ago the Thai guy showed up with my ground chicken and holy basil and I couldn't find my wallet. He said "Don't worry about it, you can pay me next time." The pud ga-prao gai sap was tasty and the guy got an oversized tip the next time.
Delivery guy shoulda taken the check.

Funny
I think it's funny (from the story) that two people sat down and started eating while the General was fighting with the delivery guy.
"...William J. Livsey..."????????

Well, he hasn't aged well ...
Two CIB.
And don't knock the man for wearing only "basic" wings. Maybe he didn't
feel like recommending himself for an award of higher wings, check out his logbook(s).

GEN Livsey was the Chief of Infantry at Fort Benning when I went through OCS and transitioning from DCG FORSCOM to CG 8th Army when I went through the IOAC. He was the guest speaker for our graduation because his son, Tim, was in our class. GEN Livsey was a highly regarded GO at that time.
This incident is pretty sad for a man like that.

Remember him well.
He was the commanding General of 7th Corps over at Kelly Barracks in Stuttgart while I was a young MP at EUCOM back in '81-'82. He was usually on post several times a month.
