This has been going on for a while now[1], and has gotten more aggressive under BHO's administration. Unfortunately, encryption isn't a silver bullet, you can be detained for refusing to give your password[2], basically a "what have you got to hide" catch-22. IME, as a security professional, I have had only one incident several years ago where my encryption password was asked for during domestic travel at JFK, I refused, and was sent on my way.
