His "Emmence-ness" was on TV this morning citing this as one of the reasons Americans hate Congress. Luckily the Speaker of the House "caved" and we'll see a vote today.
Gov Christie is gonna be the best Democrat President EVER!

Immense-ness??? (How does he get around the 32 oz softdrink rule??)

So:
Quote:
An annual survey by the insurance industry found that flood coverage in the Northeast rose to 14 percent of homeowners in May from 5 percent before Irene hit.
Are the 14% with flood insurance not getting paid or is this the general disaster funds through FEMA that is causing grief?

In the Keys, flood insurence starts when the homes floor gets wet. In my case the floor was 10 ft off the ground,, meaning we will never be able to collect unless there is a 30-40 ft serge,, ant gonna happen...

BUT you can't get a mortgage with out it,, and separate wind storm coverage..

In the 16 yrs we lived in the Keys, We had 13 named storms hit our little rock, two cat 1, one cat 3. With the acceptation of USAA coverage,, all the insurance companies, including the government, were weeks/months in paying.

Most of our friends hired lawyers that specialized in ligating federal insurance claims.. These "ambulance" chasers got more than fair percentages of the settled claims...

Hey, let's not let the fact that most of the people living in the flood zones had purchased no taxpayer subsidized flood insurance, get in the way of payouts, political favors, and pork.
