I've seen some of these forgeries and they are good!! As hard as it is to believe, they really are.

The Reeves have actually received "Warranty Claims" for the knock-offs!!

If it's priced too good to be true, IT ISN'T REAL!!!

Doc, I doubt a human touches it....other than scanning a pic of "William H Harsey Jr" into his computer, loading it into the CAD/CAM software, and having the CNC unit go to work. Would not be surprised if it was a state-sponsored activity and state-sponsored equipment.

Understood DJ. I did not mean to imply otherwise on your pic.

Just commenting that with computerized machinery it is so simple to forge signatures quickly and flawlessly. I'm sorry that the genius work of Mr Harsey would be so shamelessly counterfeited. Especially when I see how open he is to helping young knife makers, from here and around the world, improve their craft. IMO, he is an international treasure.

Agreed....worth his weight in _______??!!
I think DJ you can practice and get advice from Bill and when you have brought your skill level to a favorable plateau, I will be happy to return my knife from you back to you for a signature.

orion5: It's a all good, pal. Yep, it's messed up, but what can you do? It's virtually impossible to stop overseas counterfeiters. While some of them keep getting better, there are still usually things that are a dead giveaway. It helps if you are familiar with a particular maker's work.

swatsurgeon: That'd be a lot of practice, buddy. Electric engravers are tricky!
